Many people are involved in our productions and only the cast and the ushers are usually seen by the audience. On this page we would like to introduce just a few of our wonderful crew and give you a general description of the many jobs required to get the show running. Most of these pictures were taken during our "crazy day" - namely the Sunday before we open. After a couple of months of rehearsal and preparations at various offsite locations, this is the day that we are first able to enter the theatre and it all comes together. On this one day we erect and trim the set, arrange lighting and sound, finalize costumes and set dressing and, hopefully, have time for a run-through on stage. It's quite an exercise in teamwork. Set Builders
If you can swing a hammer or if you want to learn, we are always looking for set builders and construction personnel. The crew usually meets at the shop one night a week and on Saturday mornings. On the Sunday prior to opening week we move into the theatre, it is the crew, not the cast, that are first on stage to erect the set. Any help, a little or a lot, is always welcome. Set Painters
Whether one is a novice painter or an expert in paint techniques, no job is too small and enthusiastic participants are always welcome.

Many people when they watch a show don't appreciate the amount of work involved in bringing a presentation to the stage. The months of planning, rehearsals and effort from the cast and production team who give up their time for your entertainment.
What even fewer people notice are the numerous volunteers who make sure that the theatre is ready for each show and that it runs smoothly. From the moment you enter the Concordia Theatre they are there, showing you to your seats, pouring your drinks, working the stage. These people spend much of their free time devoted to all aspects of the theatre to make sure that when you visit you don't notice them.

Presents Onstage and Behind the Scenes, An Adventure in Theater
Children ask the best theatre questions! "How does the scenery move?" "How did that actor learn to cry when he needed to?" "Is that monster costume real?" "And can we try it?" Onstage and Behind the Scenes, An Adventure in Theater is a new exhibit in the CFAX Gallery (Center for Arts Exploration) designed to answer all the questions about what it takes to produce live theatre performances. "Theatre is a global art form used to communicate ideas, entertain, teach life lessons and most of all tell wonderful stories. Children have always been particularly fascinated by the behind the scenes elements of theater," said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO of the museum. Onstage and Behind the Scenes provides the museum with an opportunity to explore the different elements needed to produce a show and how those elements all come together. The exhibit highlights all of the people such as directors, playwrights, scenery artists, costume designers and actors that work together in the theater. Best of all, the children get to try out the myriad of behind the scenes roles for themselves. And what child hasn't raided their parent's closets for costumes, hid behind makeshift curtains in their living rooms and backyards, and performed their favorite stories for family members?
