The full-text collection includes not only aggregator services, such as ProQuest Research Library and Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe, but also publisher's services, like Elsevier's ScienceDirect, and the SOLINET netLibrary collection of electronic books. Datafiles are also collected, such as COMPUSTAT, Global Access, and Beilstein Crossfire, as well as the traditional indexing and abstracting service titles, like Humanities Abstracts, ABI Inform, and Engineering Index. Many titles in the collections are networked locally or remotely, while some are available on stand-alone workstations.

    UT Song Index
The UT Song Index is an Internet-available database providing access to about 50,000 songs in more than 1,500 published song anthologies owned by the George F. DeVine Music Library at the University of Tennessee. Searchable fields include song title, large work title, composer, author of text, anthology title, call number, song type, accompaniment, first line and chorus first line, geographical or ethnic source, and language. It is used most frequently to locate the words and music to specific songs published in collections. Remote users may identify collections containing the songs of interest and then determine if the collections are owned in a local library.

    - ANDY HOLT VIRTUAL LIBRARY -
The Andy Holt Virtual Library is principally a concept library, with a focus on the Humanities and Fine Arts. Though open to the public, it is designed to serve the learning communities within the College of Humanities and Fine Arts at the University of Tennessee-Martin . It was created in full awareness that virtual resources are never a substitute for those physically present in a brick and mortar establishment, with knowledgeable and willing librarians in a number of specialized sub-disciplines. Indeed, a physical library can contain and access a virtual library, but the opposite is not true. Appropriately, we are linked in key places to parallel physical and virtual resources provided by the Paul Meek Library on the UT Martin campus. All of these, save subscription services, are open to remote users. Excellent subscription electronic databases and full-text resources are open to those with UT Martin accounts or special permission. The integration has been made so as to allow the Andy Holt Virtual Library to stand as in independent resource. We hope that combined use of these resources will accelerate the research phase of Humanities and Fine Arts scholarship undertaken by our busy faculty, whose primary mission is teaching; the same for our students, many of whom maintain a delicate balance between paying jobs and their studies.

Former GVCNRCTC Librarian Honored by Tennessee Library Group
A former librarian and adjunct faculty member at what is now the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College has been honored by the Tennessee Library Association at its annual conference in Knoxville. Jack Stacy, formerly of Caldwell, now of Nashville, was presented with the "Tennessee Resource Sharing Award" by the association which represents all public libraries in the state as well as most educational libraries. In presenting the award to the Iaeger, WV, native, the association noted that "Jack Stacy has served a vital role in resource sharing in Tennessee. He has probably trained more librarians to us TEL (Tennessee Electronic Library) than anyone else in the state. As manager of the Impact network, he has helped libraries to provide materials to their patrons from all over the state. He has represented the State Library on the TennShare (organization of Tennessee Libraries) board, contributing ideas that have helped TennShare to grow and prosper." A 1961 graduate of White Sulphur High School, he graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, in 1965 and earned his Master in Library Science in 1989 from the University of South Carolina.
