http://www.tsgh.ndmctsgh.edu.tw/english/index.htm
After the move, even though the hospital faced streamlining of the army after which the number of employees (including employed civilians) totaled a mere 2,826, planning of medical resources was based on the accommodation of 1,712 beds and a demand of a daily average of 5,000 outpatients, 250 emergency patients and 2,000 inpatients. In addition, aerospace medicine, undersea medicine and nuclear radiation injury prevention were included in the scope of service. The short-term objective of the Tri-Service General Hospital is to realize ambulatory care and problem-oriented education. In order to introduce a new system conform to Western medicine, the training of medical professionals and organization of international seminars on clinical medicine have been set as long-term goals, and it is expected that with its base in Taiwan and its view onto the world, the Tri-Service General Hospital will be able to fortify its leading position in the medical world of Taiwan and evolve into a medical center of international ranking. I Ching, the masterpiece of Chinese classical culture, became known recently in occidental world especially through Richard Wilhelm's translation . The version in German language was followed by not the less known English version - Carry F. Baynes - achieved at C.G. Jung's request. C.G. Jung himself was interested in consulting this book as oracle, but at the same time, found in the 64 hexagrams a confirmation of the theory of the archetypes of the collective unconscious which he initiated successfully in psychoanalysis sphere. Gradually, the book becomes very popular especially for its oracle quality-literally, the book can also be used as an oracle - offering the occidental public a means of interrogating the future which surpasses through precision and seriousity all the Occident gathered in this sense... I Ching has no equal in the world. Many say its importance equals the

    C.S. Lewis (1898-1963)
    General Teachings/Activities
    - C.S. Lewis was born in Belfast, Ireland, the younger of two sons; he was named Clive Staples Lewis. He claimed to have been converted to Christianity in 1931 and was, as he put it: "A very ordinary layman of The Church of England." (Lewis was a member of the apostate Church of England, an institution whose history is based largely on theological compromise with Rome.) He had no theological training. He was the author of 40-plus books which included poems, novels, children's books, science fiction, theology, literary criticisms, educational philosophy, and an autobiography. From 1954 until his death, he was professor of medieval and Renaissance English at Cambridge University. Today, C.S. Lewis is known as a distinguished literary scholar and Christian apologist. Mere Christianity (a book upon which the beliefs of many professing Christians are based) is considered one of the most profound and logically irrefutable writings on Christian apologetics. Nevertheless, even this book is fraught with theological error. (For example, the concept of "mere Christianity" means agreeing on a small common denominator of Christian truth, while tolerating great areas of disagreement.) In 1993

    What is a Teaching
    Portfolio?
It is a factual description of a professor's teaching accomplishments supported by relevant data and analyzed by the professor to show the thinking process behind the artifacts. Most portfolios are NOT collections of everything that the professor has done in the way of teaching over his or her entire career. Rather they are selected samples that illustrate how that individual's teaching is carried out in the various venues in which teaching occurs. Edgerton, Hutchings and Quinlan (1991) describe portfolios as follows:
  • Portfolios provide documented evidence of teaching that is connected to the specifics and contexts of what is being taught.
  • They go beyond exclusive reliance on student ratings because they include a range of evidence from a variety of sources such as syllabi, samples of student work, self-reflections, reports on classroom research, and faculty development efforts.
  • In the process of selecting and organizing their portfolio material, faculty think hard about their teaching, a practice which is likely to lead to improvement in practice.

He was an ordained monk during those years. He studied with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness's senior tutor Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, Ven. Geshe Rabten, Geshe Dhargaye and other famous Lamas of that time. He has translated for Masters of all the 4 sects of Tibetan Buddhism over the last 25 years and carries various lineages from these traditions. In 1980, Jhampa entered the traditional Great Retreat and spent the next three and a half years on the mountain above Dharmsala, India. Being born and raised in the west gives Jhampa's way of sharing the insights of the East a uniquely relevant twist. Jhampa is now a married Buddhist practitioner living on Vancouver Island. He is one of the first western practitioners to be given permission by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to teach all levels of Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness.
