Greendale voters say yes to schools
Greendale residents voted overwhelmingly to support a $14 million dollar levy for the upcoming school year, despite strong opposition from the Greendale Taxpayers Group, who expressed concerns over high property tax bills in the Village. In a powerful statement of support, Greendale voters said a quality education was a priority for them, and recognized that strong schools make for strong communities. During the question-and-answer session of the evening, voters on both sides of the issue expressed a need for state officials to stop relying on property taxes to fund schools, and instead suggested a new funding source for local schools. WAES has been working on the issue for months now. Click here for more on adequacy funding
