Home Information FAQ Benefits ... Join The Mission of Prosper Australia is to create prosperity and full employment by collecting the rental from land and natural resources instead of taxation. When it's all boiled down, there are only two things that Government can tax: the value you produce, or the resources you use. Today, Government relies almost entirely on taxing the value you produce and leaves resources untaxed. This has two results:
  • Taxes on the value you produce stifle productivity, increase prices and cause poverty and unemployment.
  • The 5% of people who control over 80% of our nation's resources get richer every year by charging a price of admission to our nation's resources.
The real solution to unemployment and poverty is to stop taxing the value you produce and to put taxes back on resources. Resource taxes are simple, fair, impossible to avoid, and do not penalise productivity.

  • HALF DAY SYMPOSIUM
On Tuesday August 2nd, the Centre for Public Policy , in association with Prosper Australia will be hosting a half-day symposium on the topic of:
Equity in Sourcing Revenue: the Effect on the Economy and the Community
This symposium aims to bring together socially concerned people who are keen to identify taxation policies which cause hardship and who wish to see the incidence of homelessness and poverty reduced. The present method of drawing in revenue from any source - provided it does not produce too much of an outcry - often means that the poor are severely affected. The purpose of the symposium is to bring forward and discuss what may be more equitable alternatives to the existing hotch potch of revenue sources. Registration for this symposium is $88 (including GST, breakfast, morning tea and lunch). The event will be held at St Hilda's College, College Crescent, Parkville. Places are limited. More information, including access to a registration form can be found on the dedicated webpage:

The Business Coalition for Tax Reform (BCTR) is a forum for bringing together the views of the business community on tax reform issues. BCTR members share the common objectives of creating and implementing a better tax system that enhances both international and domestic business competitiveness and fairness and which assists in creating a business climate conducive to investment, growth, job creation and private saving. The BCTR maintains an active interest in the implementation of the New Tax System tax reform measures and continues to promote understanding of the reasons for further reform and to provide input into the implementation process. The BCTR aims to promote 10 principles for Australia’s taxation system. While much has been achieved in recent years in the tax reform arena, the task is ongoing with much still to be done. If we are to meet the objectives outlined above, Australia cannot afford to rest here, nor can Governments afford to restrict their consideration of taxation reform to business taxes levied at the Federal level and the domestic taxpayer. The BCTR encourages both Federal and State Governments to take a renewed interest in tax reform and to do so from a ‘whole of economy’ perspective. The best taxation system for sustained long-term economic growth requires that all levels of taxation in Australia are working efficiently and facilitating Australia’s international competitiveness. Furthermore, that the tax system meets not only the challenges of today but those likely to arise in the future.

Building Support for State Tax Reform
By creating a modern tax system that asks everyone to pay their fair share, progressive state tax reform will lower taxes for most Tennesseans while raising hundreds of millions to invest in key public services. This campaign is ongoing. See our on-line facts and nationally recognized Tax Reform Calculator to learn more.
Defeating TABOR and the Income Tax Ban
Those who oppose investing in our schools, parks, and other public services are working on various fronts to put a constitutional stranglehold on state services. In addition to the so-called Taxpayer Bill of Rights or TABOR , legislators made an attempt to constitutionally prohibit a state income tax, making any effort at balanced tax reform virtually impossible. TFT successfully defeated these efforts in 2004 and again in 2005.

ON A00546153X ARP PO Box Epsom Vic Welcome to our second newsletter, thank you to the response to the first newsletter; it was very encouraging I have even received phone calls and letters regarding the A.R.P. and also the stand that I had personally taken over the gun issue. I was sorry to see that the pistols have now been included, which we said would happen at the time. I only wish that a lot of shooters had continued their support to the A.R.P. so that we could have help more (other parties were worried because of our membership numbers). It was disappointing to see them vote LIB/NAT or A.L.P. after so much effort was made to form the A.R.P. with 6000 members. We are considerably smaller now but are growing again with members all around Australia. Some of the issues that we would like to comment on are We are opposed to the new toxic waste dumpsites in the country and we feel that other options should be considered.
