Sweden was neutral throughout World War II, however they did sell some of their vehicles to countries before the war had started. Early Days The first Swedish tanks were designed by Joseph Vollmer (he designed the German A7V, K-Wage, and LKI/LKII tanks) and were completed in 1921 and was called the Stridsvagn m/21 . Only 10 were built and they weighed 9,700 kg. There was a male type with a 37 mm gun and a female type with 2 6.5 mm MGs. They had a Daimler 55 hp engine that allowed them to get a road speed of 13 mph (21 kph). In 1929 they had a 85 hp engine installed and became known as the m/21-29. Landsverk company was formed in the late 1920s and developed a number of tracked and tracked/wheeled vehicles. The first tracked tanks were the L-5 and then the L-10, which were purchased by the Swedish Army and designated as the M/31 . There was also the L-30 and L-80 which were wheel/track, the

Early Treaties In April 1939, after Italy occupied Albania, France and the United Kingdom signed pacts to guarantee Greece and Romania as long as they resisted aggression. Start of War When the war started in September 1939, dictator General Ioannis Metaxes tried to maintain Greek Neutrality. However, he still wanted to give low level assistance to Britain. Italy Beats a War Drum Whereas Germany tried to dominate south-east Europe through political and economic means, Italy wanted to gain territory in Greece and Yugoslavia. The Italian ambassador delivered an ultimatum, but Metaxes Three hours later Italian troops moved into northwest Greece. The Greeks were able to repulse the invasion and in turn captured parts of southern Albania before bad weather set in. Before Metaxes died, on January 29, 1941, he turned down offer of ground troops.

But the number and variety of fortifications, assembly places, votive sites and graves is impressive. The Viking Age was getting under way by the 9th century, and vast repositories of Roman, Byzantine and Arab coins attest to the wealth and power Swedish Vikings accumulated over the next century. Vikings travelled mostly to the east, making their mark in Russia, as well as trading with (and pillaging) Byzantine territories.

yesterday and today
Sweden has been a monarchy for over a thousand years. For all this time, craftsmen, merchants and others have been delivering goods and services to the monarch and the Royal Family. The first suppliers to the Royal Family were the artisans and merchants who plied their trades in the quarters around the Royal Palace in Stockholm and the other Swedish royal residences. When the Royal Family then gradually started to order goods from other parts of the country and from abroad, the system of royal warrants also began to spread.

By the end of the century this had given way to the practice of writing "His Royal Majesty's" and then the trade or profession. This gave rise to titles such as His Royal Majesty's Baker and His Royal Majesty's Tailor. The word Majesty was later replaced by "Royal Court", and craftsmen and merchants started to style themselves Baker to the Royal Court, Tailor to the Royal Court, Chimney Sweep to the Royal Court. Kustleden Turism HB,
s early as 1672 the iron-works in Ströms Bruk received it's royal privileges. Hans Behm set up a tilt-hammer at an old sawmill site and the rest, as they say, is history.
By the end of the 17th century the works got into financial troubles and the notorious money lender Johan Lohe took over the business.
Lohe died in 1700. In the beginning of that century access to coal was scarce so the former smelter closed down but two hammers remained. In 1787 the Tersmeden family took over ownership and another hammer was established. Business was booming and the ironworks finally saw its peak in 1888. In 1889 however, the iron epoque came to an end - the new focus was on the forest industry.

Kustleden Turism HB,
ust after WWII the English paper manufacturer Wiggin Teap looked for a Scandinavian supplier of photo paper base.
The excellent quality produced in Strömsbruk fit the bill and a new era dawned.
Within a few years the company supplied 40% of the European demand and as much as 15% of the world's total need. Products from companies such as Kodak, Agfa, Fuji and Ilford contained paper from Strömsbruk. The high quality and the niche in the photo paper market kept the company alive and well through otherwise hard times in the industry. Strömsbruk was not only a source of pride for Fabian Lundqvist, management and workers, but a name synonymous with quality all over the world.

Academic programs The main purpose of this study-program is to educate highly qualified specialists in the areas of Swedish history, culture and politics, whom will be able to go on to doctoral studies, become teachers of Swedish history, and researchers in the fields of Swedish history, culture, political science and archive studies. Considering the amount of language training included in the program, the Graduate students will also be able to work as translators, language-teachers or consultants in a wide range of areas. A special feature of the study-program offered at the center is that it is structured to conform to the structure and principles of Swedish higher education. To this effect an agreement between RSUH and Uppsala University was signed 9.04.1997, stating that teachers from Uppsala University would be engaged in teaching and examining the students at the center. Students from the faculties of Archive studies, History-philology, and Art history have already benefited from this agreement, having taken part in courses led by Swedish guest-lecturers in the fields of Swedish history and Scandinavian art history. After having taken part in these courses, the students, during a period of three semesters, wrote papers and took exams, for which they received Swedish grades, and a certificate from Uppsala University. The frame of studies for the students at the Russian-Swedish academic center is "The history, culture and politics of Sweden"

80. West Air Sweden - History
So West Air sweden was born, starting it s operation on the local In all eleven have been brought to sweden and converted by West Air themselves.
http://www.westair.se/history.htm
To the north of Europe's second largest lake, and at the very heart of industrial Middle Sweden, lies the famous old town of Karlstad. " Sunny" Karlstad, so called in tribute to the hearty welcome of a most hospitable waitress called Sola (her statue stands in the centre), has long been thought of as a home of music and entertainment.
A major milestone in the company's development was the commencement of mail operations in '91 with two Beech 200's and two IAI Westwind jets. Until '97 scheduled passenger and taxi charter flights were successfully performed but '96 saw a huge development within the Swedish Post's logistic system and it took West Air into a new era.
The demand now was for greater capacity on the night-time mail routes. The Hawker Siddley 748 was thought to be suitable for these routes and could be modified with an E-Class cargo compartment; raising the payload to 6.3 tonnes and gross available space to 55 cubic metres. So four of this type of aircraft were modified and added to the fleet. They operated successfully and the search was now on for more 748's. In all eleven have been brought to Sweden and converted by West Air themselves.
From it's inauguration as a coffee roaster's private air taxi the carrier has graduated as a mail specialist, holds a strong position in the schedule cargo market and now also provides a valuable adhoc charter service to an impressive list of destinations throughout Scandinavia and across Europe.
