166. Religious Misunderstandings - WILL YOU RETURN TO THIS WORLD AGAIN?
A sufi contention against the New Age belief in reincarnation.
http://www.ahmedbaki.com/english/books/din/din33.htm
RELIGIOUS MISUNDERSTANDINGS - "Death" WILL YOU RETURN TO THIS WORLD AGAIN By Ahmed Hulusi The familiar idea of reincarnation, which is actually based on Hindu philosophy of thousand of years past, is currently being reintroduced as if it were a new revelation. This idea is also referred to as “ TANASUH ” and is based on a view that some time after the transition into the dimension of life with a spirit body from the life of physical body through death, the deceased will return to the earth through entering into a different physical body. What is more, this idea is tried to be linked with some signs in the Koran as if it were accepted by the Deen of Islam and through twisting some interpretations to fit their objective it is tried to make believers swallow it as an Islamic fact. It is an unavoidable truth that life will go on in the form of a different body right after the event of death. Since the entire science world has recognized the precision of the principle that “matter can neither be created nor destroyed (something that exists can never be absent)”, then neither can an absence for your soul, your consciousness be considered! This scientific fact clearly assures the continuity of human consciousness, soul without any interruption after the event of death. As a person’s consciousness, that is his “soul”, exists and lives on with a biological body at our current level of existence, and as this self will never be destroyed once it exists, then it is obvious that life will continue with a body within the framework of its environment following death.

Afghanistan: Sufi Brotherhoods Reemerge After The Fall Of The Taliban
By Dan Alexe Kabul has again become a center for Islamic mysticism, or Sufism, a term used to describe those who are interested in inner knowledge or finding the path toward inner awakening and enlightenment. After the flight of the Taliban, every neighborhood in Afghanistan's capital now seems to have its own Sufi brotherhood. Kabul, 1 February 2002 (RFE/RL) The Sufis of Afghanistan played a significant role in the anti-Soviet resistance, offering followers solidarity and stability without considering the ethnic background of the faithful.

"To kill innocent people violates the principles of Islam," says a local imam . "Why doesn't he order his own army to fight the army of the infidels?" Bin Laden is an Arab Wahhabi from Saudi Arabia. The people of Bukhara are substantially Tajik, and most speak Tajik, although calling themselves Uzbek. This means that they are culturally oriented towards Persia. Bukhara - as well as the larger city of Samarkand - are not in present-day Tajikistan because of Joseph Stalin's warped mapmaking. Ever since the 9th and 10th centuries, as capital of the Samanid empire, Bukhara has been annexed to the fabulous Persian artistic heritage. And ever since the 14th century, it has been a privileged home of Sufism, a more mystic branch of Islam. Islam Karimov, the current ruler of Uzbekistan, is also not a very popular character in Bukhara - according to prominent local merchant families. But the reason is not religious, it is because of his government's corruption and inefficiency. Last week, Karimov and entourage travelled in style to Bukhara, to reopen the meticulously restored birthplace and tomb complex dedicated to 14th century Sufi saint Bahauddin Naqshbandi - the founder of the most important Sufi

INTRODUCTION S UFIS , Mandaean Darvishes, Zarathustrians, Parsees, and other Arabic or Persain sects are the focus of the Order of Nazorean Essenes during the Early Winter Christmas Season (Jan 6 to Feb 27). The Order of O:N:E: looks to these ancient Sufis, Parsees, and the Persian prophets to a lesser degree, for certain keys pertaining to certain facets of Essene Nazoreans. Many Arabic speaking regions of the world have originated many important mystical sects which have some ancient roots amongst the Nazorean Essene sect of ancient Palestine via certain Dorithian and Manichaean streams. The historical link between Sufis and Nazoreans, via Mandaeans. Essene Nazoreans predate the Christian era and survives as modern Mandaeans in southern Iraq and elsewhere and as certain elements within Sufism and esoteric Shiahism. ZARATHUSTRIAN-PARSI SUFIS Dosithian Mandaeans migrated to the Iraqi area in the days of Zazai (272 A.D.). After establishing themselves in this region, they eventually influenced the later Sufis who arose in the eighth century. The Sufis also appear to have borrowed many truths from the Manichaeans, who themselves were also influenced by early Nazoreanism before Zazai. Sufis borrowed Mandaean terms for spiritual concepts, as well as Manichaean terms such as the one for monk (

174. Ibn Al'Arabi: Sufi Mysticism And Pantheism.
Islamic panentheism in the sufi mystic Ibn al Arabi.

Ibn al-'Arabi - the Sufi mystic
A history of pantheism and scientific pantheism by Paul Harrison. Are you a pantheist? Find out now at the Scientific Pantheism site.
The existence of all created things is His existence. Thou dost not see, in this world or the next, anything beside God.
Rooflight, Mahan, Iran. Just as Mohammed is the most uncompromising of monotheists, so Ibn al-'Arabi is the most rigorous of panentheists. Everything that exists is a part of and a manifestation of the Oneness of God. Humans are part of God. The idea of a separate self is the result of ignorance. Ibn al-'Arabi was born in Murcia, Spain, in AH 560 [AD 1165]. At the age of twenty he was initiated into Sufism. From the 1190s he engaged in three decades of travels as a wandering scholar, poet and mystic, visiting the Maghreb, Egypt, Arabia, Syria and Asia Minor. In 1223 he finally settled in Damascus. One source of Ibn al-'Arabi's panentheism is Sufism, which seeks to efface the self in mystical union with God. The other is Islamic theology. Panentheism is already strongly present - in the Quran: "Wheresoever you turn, there is the face of God." [Quran, II.115.] And in Islam

Home About the Project The Paintings
This remarkable 40-minute DVD movie shows a collection of visionary paintings, with commentary, made over a 28-year period by Rabia Clark, Ph.D., a teacher in the Sufi Order International. They record mystical states she experienced while in altered states of consciousness during retreats, meditation, regression therapy, and visions, while on her journey to the end of consciousness. They reflect inner stages of spiritual growth, experienced by many mystics in the past, including kundalini awakening. She offers them with the hope that they may help others going through similar realizations. They include visions of angels, planes of ice and snow where the Virgin Mary dwells, out-of-body states, near-death like situations, long periods of intense energy and ecstasy, rainbow-like energy fields, possession by a light-being, visits by powerful inner figures, healing the world, and many other images. The Dervish Project is a deeply spiritual movie, with beautiful music. The viewers are gently led into a meditative state, so they can experience these visions for themselves.
ISBN 0-9789018-0-X The movie is only available at this time through Dervish Project Press. Orders will be shipped first class. Inquire for overseas.
