165. Fort Mitchell Police Department
Brief overview of the department.
http://www.fortmitchell.com/police.asp
The Fort Mitchell Police Department, under the direction of Chief Steve Hensley, is committed to serving the community in a professional, effective, and efficient manner utilizing qualified and trained personnel and the most up-to-date techniques and equipment possible.
The Department consists of thirteen (13) full-time officers, all of whom are certified by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. Certification requires the completion of a basic sixteen-week program in Law Enforcement at Eastern Kentucky University and a minimum of 40 hours of yearly continuing education classes in law enforcement related fields. In addition to the normal patrol and investigative functions, the Department also has a full time Detective position, and operates other programs including DARE, bicycle patrol, and a motorcycle patrol, among others. The Department also participates with other Northern Kentucky police agencies in an Emergency Response ( SWAT ) Unit.
The Fort Mitchell Police Department is also one of only approximately 5% of police agencies in the state of Kentucky that has been fully accredited by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Professional Standards Committee, which evaluates local police departments based upon 146 elements of professional standards in the field of law enforcement. Almost every phase and procedure of the Department was evaluated in the nearly two-year process.
It is the Department's intention to interact with members of the community by whatever means possible in order that we may get the feedback that we feel is so important and necessary. We hope you will make use of our Web site to offer your ideas, comments, and questions so that we may better serve you.

Hollins' music curriculum includes thorough training in theory, music history, and performance study. In addition, the music department also offers a wide range of courses in related areas including world music, women in western music, and history of the American musical theater.
Music majors concentrate in a performance area leading to an instrumental or vocal senior recital, or may pursue study in an area such as theory or composition with a senior thesis or creative project. A music minor is also available to students whose primary career interests lie in another field, but who wish to study music seriously.
Music majors may also become candidates for endorsement in public school teaching (Choral Music, K-12), following requirements in the teacher education program administered by the education department.
The Hollins University Certificate in Piano Teaching is available to degree candidates and others not seeking the music degree. It offers specialized study and practical work in piano pedagogy.
Students who take part in Hollins' international study programs are encouraged to continue musical pursuits abroad. Students have recently pursued musical work while in London, Paris, and Spain.
