122. How To Write A Speech
Once that is done, you must Write a statement of purpose for the speech. Next,do the required research so that your speech is accurate and extensive.

how to write a speech A speech must be engaging, clear, concise and most importantly, catered to the audience’s interests. Therefore the first step is to Choose a Topic after Learning who the audience will be. Once that is done, you must Write a statement of purpose for the speech. Next, do the required research so that your speech is accurate and extensive. After this you need to start writing your speech. But first, you must create an outline. The outline must have an Introduction, Body of Speech and Ending. Under each of those headings, place notes from the research, anecdotes, quotes etc. You must also decide what type of Organisational Pattern you want your speech to follow. It may be Topical (describing different parts of the whole), Chronological, or Spatial (using a chart to explain concepts and distances). It may also follow the Problem – Solution pattern or the Motivational method. Once you decide this, you must also decide how to Start and End your speech. To begin, you may

That brings us to the second element in good speech writing structure. Some people have accused me of making speech writing sound too simple.
http://www.worldnewsfeeds.com/ArticlesWritingSpeeches.asp
Writing speeches that work (1,912 words)
Some years ago I was a newsreader at CBC Radio in Toronto. A colleague and I co-hosted The World At Six, the flagship radio news program. Every evening, as the clock counted us down to the first edition, my friend would say one of two things. Sometimes he would groan "Oh, God - 17 more years" reflecting on when he could retire with full pension. But more often than not, just before turning on his microphone, he would say "Time to paint the picture". Painting the picture may seem, at first, a strange way to describe working with the spoken word. But creating for the listener a picture with words - must be the root of all effective speech writing. Most painters start with an idea of what they want to say with their work. It may be simple - "here is a beautiful landscape" or "this person has an interesting face" - but there is a central idea. Most painters don't try to paint a landscape and a portrait simultaneously. Yet, this is a common mistake in speech writing.

Organizational Communication, Learning, and Design
Bachelor of Science Gordon Rowland, Professor and Chair
Organizational communication, learning, and design The breadth and depth of the curriculum provide majors with the background to become communication generalists within small organizations for example, designing desktop-published newsletters, writing annual reports, developing training media, preparing speeches and press releases, and recruiting new employees or to become specialists within a more focused context such as corporate video production, interactive multimedia design, conflict resolution, instructional technology, or diversity training. To prepare students for such roles, skills and concepts are presented and applied within the curriculum in a variety of contexts such as business and industry, media production houses, consulting firms, health care providers, educational institutions, social service organizations, and government agencies. Core All majors take a common core of courses in which they develop basic communication knowledge and skills. The core introduces three concentrations within the major: corporate communication, learning and performance, and integrated studies. Concentrations help students focus their studies on particular interests and intended careers. Students should select one of the three concentrations by the conclusion of their sophomore year.

CLEMSON CLASS OF 1941 FETED
FOR GIFT OF A NEW STUDIO FOR COMMUNICATION
CLEMSON The Clemson University Class of 1941 has a vision for its alma mater: a university that produces students not only knowledgeable in their disciplines, but who excel in communicating that expertise. And they have delivered on that vision with the new Class of 1941 Studio for Student Communication, made possible with a $1 million gift. Today (Jan. 20), members of the Clemson University community including students, staff and faculty celebrated this gift with tours of the studio, thanks from President James F. Barker and a lunch at the Madren Center. The new studio will enable Clemson to build on Communication Across the Curriculum, an innovative program that led TIME magazine to name Clemson "Public College of the Year" for 2001. In the Class of 1941 Studio for Student Communication, students will learn to be better speakers, better writers and more savvy users of the Internet and other communications technology. In addition, the new studio will provide a site for national research to be conducted. In August, for instance, a group of scholars from across the country will gather in the studio to conduct research on digital portfolios.

CLEMSON CLASS OF 1941 DONATES $1 MILLION
TO BUILD STUDIO FOR STUDENT COMMUNICATION
CLEMSON The Clemson University Class of 1941 has a vision for its alma mater: a university that produces students not only knowledgeable in their disciplines, but who excel in communicating that expertise. The graduates of '41 plan to enrich that goal with a new $1 million gift. The money will enable Clemson to build on Communication Across the Curriculum, an innovative program which led TIME Magazine to name Clemson "Public College of the Year" for 2001. Clemson will use the gift to establish The Class of 1941 Studio for Student Communication, a facility where students will learn to be better speakers, better writers and more savy users of the Internet and other communications technology. "The members of the Class of 1941 are pleased that we can make this gift," said class member P.W. McAlister of Laurens. "We're already proud of the graduates that come out of Clemson, and we're proud that the millions of dollars previously contributed by this class make those graduates even better prepared for their place in the world."

a speaker's own personality, passions and perspectives in ways that those who
know him best will say, "Yes, that's him." In an ideal world, it's best to write your own speech. You'd do the time-consuming research, take more time for quiet reflection, more time to play with concepts, cadence, comic relief and content, and then try several iterations until you produce a speech that truly expresses you and your vision. In the real world, time is the one resource executives do not have at their disposal.
So as an executive, you attempt to find someone who can wed your mindset with your message while addressing the realities of each venue, and the needs of audience members and news media. Frankly, it doesn't always work. Few executives find a capable and compatible writer; fewer can afford such an exclusive service; fewer still have P.R. "handlers" who allow an outside speechwriter access to the throne.
