This site has been improved in many ways, from its content, to its navigation, to the pre-readings you will be able to download when you have enrolled in a workshop. The following information will introduce you to PROMPT, a unique and specialized non-profit program that offers: 1) Specialized treatment for all ages (infancy through geriatric), with speech production disorders. Currently we have clinics in Santa Fe and Espanola, New Mexico and will shortly be opening a clinic in Manhattan, New York. Our goal is to develop these specialized clinics across the country so that access to highly trained PROMPT clinicians for assessment, consultation and treatment is available. 2) Workshops for speech-language pathologists and parents/caregivers. I initially developed PROMPT, (an acronym for Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), in Canada during the 1970s and developed this approach further (from the 1980's -1995), as Director of the Speech Foundation, Toronto Children's Centre. Training Speech-Language Pathologists in the Prompt method began in the mid 1980's and when I moved back to the United States the Institute was organized and training continued here. Since that time, we have given over 400 workshops throughout the US and Canada, Australia, Europe and the Far East. Most workshops are arranged through sponsors who have asked us to present a workshop in their area.
