Welcome
Welcome to Family Home Care Corporation. At Family Home Care we strive for excellence in all that we do. We are the Inland Northwest's largest independently owned home health agency, and for over 30 years we've provided quality home health care to thousands of Spokane County residents. More than just visiting nurses, Family Home Care is the region's most comprehensive provider of care in the home, ranging from doctor-ordered care (delivered by highly-trained nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers) to personal assistance (delivered by caring, trained, and supervised nursing assistants). We provide peace of mind and comfort. Our patients, clients, and their families appreciate the caring competence of our Private Duty caregivers. Consistently over 95% of our patients say they would recommend our services to their friends, family, and neighbors. Our professional referral sources (doctors, hospital discharge planners, insurance companies) appreciate the accountability and responsiveness that comes with local ownership. One call, 24 hours per day, will lead to a decision-maker who can address your needs, whatever is required. We are fortunate to have highly qualified and experienced employees whose average tenure with Family Home Care far exceeds national averages. Our employee retention rate is extraordinarily high. As a result, Family Home Care and our clients benefit by being able to select only the finest applicants for employment, who then go through a rigorous orientation and training program to ensure they meet the demanding standards of Family Home Care.

Q: Will my child's speech be delayed if he has a cleft lip/palate?
    A:
Not necessarily, if the surgical intervention is timely.
Q: At what age should he be operated?
    A:
The surgery should be done between 6-18 months. But palate repair carried out at around 12 months of age is generally preferred. Unfortunately for some children, early surgery may not be possible because of other handicapped conditions and extensiveness of the cleft of palate.
Q: Will my child require a second surgery?
    A:
Q: My child does not have a visible cleft lip and palate. But still, he has been advised surgery because of his hypernasality (Has a nasal voice).
    A:
Hypernasality may be due to a submucous cleft, which may become apparent when speech begins to develop.
