BREAKING NEWS:
Congratulations to the 2005-2006 Special Olympics Exec Board! Check out our events page for updates! Northwestern's Special Olympics group is the oldest and largest student-run Special Olympics program in the United States . We work with Area 5 of Special Olympics Illinois to host the Spring games held each May. Many of our members coach Area 5 athletes on a regular basis. We also coordinate and organize many on-campus events for local athletes, including sports tournaments, a Valentine's Day Dance, and an outdoor carnival. Finally, Special Olympics Northwestern is responsible for raising the funds to organize the Spring Games, and events geared toward this goal include our 5K, NU Idol, and various local fundraisers in the Evanston Area.
