South Carolina Rider Education Program
The mission of the South Carolina Rider Education Program (SCREP) is to make available to motorcycle riders throughout the state a series of comprehensive motorcycle training courses designed to increase motorcycle safety on South Carolina's streets and highways. The program accomplishes this task by providing motorcycle safety courses for both novice and experienced riders and by increasing the public's awareness of motorcyclists on the road. Our goal is to enhance the riding experience of South Carolinians throughout the state by instructing riders how to manage their risk and increase their skills through riding and classroom instruction and to ultimately reduce the number of motorcycling accidents and fatalities.
The program provides motorcycle rider safety education and training for riders of all skill levels. The program has a course for people who have never ridden a motorcycle and are interested in learning basic skills to riders who just want to sharpen their skills and share their experience with other riders. There is even a course for riders who want to hone their skills in preparation for taking the state motorcycle driver's license exam. Check out the Courses page to determine which class is best for you.
The Locations page provides a list of sponsoring technical colleges and contact information for registration at each location. Be sure to read the General Info pages before registering for any classes. And remember: while we can provide information and training that can help you ride more safely, only you can choose to use it!

Many adults who did not complete a high school program of instruction have continued to learn through a variety of experiences encountered in everyday life. The purpose of the GED Testing Program is to provide an opportunity for these individuals to have the learning acquired from such educational experiences evaluated and recognized. The GED Tests make it possible for qualified individuals to earn a high school credential, thus providing opportunities for hundreds of thousands of adults to:
In South Carolina, approximately 8,500 adults take the GED examination each year. Approximately 60 percent earn passing scores and are awarded a South Carolina High School Equivalency Diploma each year. The GED examination is a nationally normed examination. Graduating high school seniors are administered portions of the GED examination. The passing score is set at a point where 40 percent of all high school seniors would not pass the GED examination.

South Carolina State Library - Funding The State Library manages state and federal grant programs to assist local libraries across the state with the provision of library and information services. In administering a grants-in-aid program using general fund appropriation, Capital Improvement Bond funds, S.C. Education Lottery Act funds, and Library Services and Technology Act funds, the State Library distributes to public libraries millions of dollars each fiscal year. In many instances, without State Aid, small and medium sized public libraries would experience great difficulty maintaining service hours, supplementing library collections and upgrading information technology. More than sixty-four (64%) percent of the overall State Library general fund appropriation is state aid administered to county/regional libraries. ... Later the benevolent association established schools for orphans and indigent children. The Society now donates scholarships to the College of Charleston .
