Reserve, Reserve, Reserve!
Note to self:
Me come from small (1m) in Texas (Austin). Singapore same size, 4x the population. Austin still pretty much laid back, don't need, and in some cases, can't make reservations still. well... Singapore, well, crowded and many want to be in front. Strategy, remember this: want to see something, reserve.
- SwissHotel Raffles Equinox High Tea (70th floor, great view). If you want a table by the window, make reservations.
- Zoo, breakfast with the jungle. If you want to see the presentation before the pictures, make reservations.
- Even Haggen-Das ice cream. The view is reserved, and i don't know if it's a call ahead or just leave name and wait, but they were reserving tables at Haggen-Das at Raffles City mall.

Having been around town many years, it's interesting to see how a multicultural reflection on celebrating Christmas is broken down to very secular celebration of sales enthusians.
Do these make you feel like Christmas?

Welcome Instructor Course Information Freq. Asked Questions Culture Activity Club (CAC) Harmonica is a group where harmonica enthusiasts can gather to learn more about harmonica techniques or just to have fun interacting with each other. You don't need have to be a seasoned player to join us-but the interest in playing harmonica is a must! Consisting of an excellent teacher, enthusiastic juniors and ever-supportive seniors, this is really a GREAT group!!! The close bond developed among each other is the most treasured thing once we join the group! All the fun and laughter are the most memorable things to us. The National University of Singapore (NUS) CAC Harmonica club is open to all who are interested in learning how to play harmonica. The songs we usually play are mostly contemporary songs, though we do learn to play some classical music too. No prior experience or musical background is required in our courses. In fact, all you need is the passion and time for practice. There is an induction session for 8 weeks provided by skilled musician Mr Tang for beginners. There is regular practice for two hours every week. Current practice time slot is from 6:30pm-8:30pm every Wed. It is not compulsory to attend all practice sessions. You are encouraged to come when you are free. There are many performance opportunities throughout the year. We have other club activities like barbeque, trekking, karaoke, and gathering dinner and so on.

    Singapore History and Culture
History According to Malay legend, a Sumatran prince encountered a lion - considered a good omen - on Temasek, prompting him to found Singapura, or Lion City. It mattered little that lions had never inhabited Singapore (more likely the prince had seen a tiger); what did matter was the establishment of the region as a minor trading post for the powerful Sumatran Srivijaya empire and as a subsequent vassal state of the Javanese Majapahit empire in the mid-13th century. Singapore might have remained a quiet backwater if not for Sir Stamford Raffles' intervention in 1819. The British had first established a presence in the Straits of Malacca (now called Melaka) in the 18th century when the East India Company set out to secure and protect its line of trade from China to the colonies in India.
