Eating Disorders are uncommon , historically speaking. Unlike depression and anxiety, which we can trace throughout history and culture, eating disorders have only appeared in noticeable numbers a few times in history in a handful of cultures. Once on the scene, as they are today, they are uniquely prejudicial . While many psychological disorders lean towards particular demographics, none as overwhelmingly as anorexia and bulimia. Eating disorders are the almost exclusive domain of women. Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating and Compulsive Overeating are culturally constructed . The particularities of who gets eating disorders, and that they are getting them in epidemic proportions in our era, in our country, are our clues to what eating disorders are about. They hold meaning about our time and place, and speak specifically, given the gender bias of the disorder, to something about how we define femininity. Seeing the epidemic of eating disorders, with its overwhelming demographic of girls and women, as evidence that the societal construction of femininity and current beauty ideal are dangerous to women

Many commonly used antihypertensive drugs such as diuretics and betablockers can interfere with sexual function in both sexes, causing loss of libido, impairment of erectile function and ejaculation in men, and delay or prevent orgasm in women. after this study It is therefore concluded that losartan may have an advantage in preservation of sexual function when used clinically for the treatment of hypertensive disorders.

Exotic Dancing and Sexual Abuse
Showing the relationsips between exotic dancing, sexual abuse,
and mental disorders.
Quotes from an article by Candi Cushman:
According to University of Pennsylvania psychiatrist Mary Anne Layden, between 60 and 80 percent of nude dancers were raped or sexually abused as children. One study found that 35% of strippers have Multiple Personality Disorder, 55% had Borderline Personality Disorder, and 60% had Major Depressive Episodes.
Mrs. Dupree was a traveling "feature dancer" making $100,000 a year and buying fancy sports cars and luxury townhouses.
But the glittery lifestyle only served to hide deeper layers of anger and pain. The constant sight of women "crying in their money" backstage, and pressure to perform lewd acts to keep up with competition, gnawed at Mrs. Dupree.
She promised herself that she would never perform table or "lap dances," but "as time went on I lost more and more of my morality," she said. "Like little pieces, I just left them behind until in the end I was all used up and I had nothing left."

131. An Evolutionary Hypothesis For Eating Disorders
Riadh T. Abed argues that the roots of some eating disorders may be sexual competition. Published in the British Journal of Medical Psychology 71(4)525547.

The Sexual Competition Hypothesis For Eating Disorders Riadh T. Abed, MBChB, DPM, MRCPsych. Psychiatrist, Department of Psychiatry, Rotherham District General Hospital, Moorgate Road, Rotherham S60 2UD, United Kingdom, and Honorary Clinical Lecturer, University of Sheffield. Fax: 114 2507651; E-mail: abed@globalnet.co.uk Acknowledgements: I am grateful to Dr. R.L. Palmer and Dr. K. de Pauw for reading and commenting on earlier versions of this paper. I also wish to thank Professor P. Gilbert Associate Editor and the two anonymous referees for their critical review of the paper and for offering valuable advice. The Sexual Competition Hypothesis For Eating Disorders Evolutionary science has made few inroads into psychiatry despite the fact that over 130 years have passed since Darwin’s Origin The hypothesis on eating disorders presented here is derived from the evolutionary theory of human sexuality. The present hypothesis is based upon the assumption that, besides shaping anatomical systems, selection also designs psychological and behavioural adaptations that are just as important for the organisms survival and reproductive success (Lorenz, 1937; Dawkins,1982). Hypothesis: The present hypothesis is based upon the following assumptions: 1. In the ancestral environment, the female shape was a generally reliable indicator of the female’s reproductive history and hence her future reproductive potential.
