The source said the arrest was linked to a car crash in 1999 in which the then opposition leader Vuk Draskovic was slightly injured and four of his associates killed. Alessio Vinci, CNN's Belgrade bureau chief, said Markovic was also under investigation for other unspecified crimes, which the police will decide whether to take action on shortly. IN-DEPTH Transition in Yugoslavia Markovic, who is a key ally of Milosevic, was arrested by Serb police on the orders of a Belgrade district prosecutor in the city on Saturday evening, the source added.
