Life Stage Investing: Retail
One way to handle the situation is by sitting them down and going over 10Ks and other SEC filings. Another way is to hand them a couple of books on the subject and see what they pick up. Of course, you could also enroll them in classes and seminars, or have them sit down with a broker or personal financial planner.
There are many different ways to introduce your children to investing. And there are many different companies and industries you can use for examples to get started. Allow me to suggest that you start by going over some Retail companies.
Why Retail?
Certain segments of the Retail sector, such as Apparel, work well for teaching teen-agers and young adults about investing for two key reasons. First, there are the seasonal aspects.
Also, since students are out of school for the summer, they are looking for something to occupy their time and give them some spending money. Many of them will find employment with a Retail company. Such experience teaches them about the business from the perspective of an employee. An astute individual can pick up lessons about product display, inventory management, and customer relations.
Because students are already consumers of products sold by Retail companies, as well as employees of such companies, they already have some understanding of the dynamics of the business and the industry. We mentioned Apparel, but the story pretty much holds for many Retailers. And this brings us right back to the old adage that you should invest in companies that you know and businesses that you understand.

Introduction The primary mission of the educational programs offered by the Center for High Pressure Research (CHiPR), which has its headquarters at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, is to facilitate the integration of the process of "doing science" into our culture. In order to address this mission, CHiPR educational staff have designed a variety of educational programs appropriate for a wide range of audiences, including pre-schoolers, elementary school children, secondary school students, undergraduates, and practicing teachers. However, the bulk of CHiPR's educational programs are aimed at the secondary schools, where in New York State, Regents Earth Science is taught. In order to administer these educational programs, CHiPR has established the Earth Science Educational Resource Center (ESERC). ESERC offers teacher workshops, programs that bring undergraduate and pre-college students to CHiPR laboratories to perform experiments, World Wide Web-based teaching materials, research equipment for teachers and their students to use, and summer internships for educators. In addition, CHiPR educators serve as mentors for secondary school students who are performing research projects. An example of a program that includes this type of research component is the Sayville Honors Earth Science program, which represents a collaboration between ESERC and Sayville High School on Long Island.

About Witchcraft
Greetings! Here you will find information on the religion of Witchcraft. After thousands of years of "bad press" we are coming out of the "broom closet" to educate the public about ourselves and our religion. Moreover, we acknowledge the need to establish a rapport with the ecumenical religious community. The Covenant of the Goddess, which compiled and distributes this information, is a league of covens and individuals from all over the United States, with members in Canada and abroad. It was incorporated in California on October 31, 1975 as a non-profit religious corporation, with all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of any church. The Covenant has been a part of the Berkeley Area Interfaith Council for the past decade, and through it participates in the North American Interfaith Network. We have included in this information a brief statement on each of the following: Of necessity, we have merely highlighted these aspects for you. We can only begin to illustrate the entire panorama of our diverse religion, but we have tried to convey a basic understanding of the Craft of Wicca. On request we can furnish more detailed information or a representative authorized to speak on our behalf.

What is TEFL? or TESOL? or is it TESL?
  • TEFL = Teaching English as a Foreign Language. TESOL = Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages TESL = Teaching English as a Second Language
TESL normally refers to teaching English to people who have moved from their own country to the UK (or another English-speaking country) and need to develop their English language skills in order to work, study, access services and/or develop social networks. See www.prospects.ac.uk/links/Occupations for detailed job profiles of TEFL and TESOL teachers (under Education)
Qualifications
For many of the better jobs in Europe you need a TEFL qualification. The TEFL Certificate is the preliminary qualification and the one sought by most language schools when recruiting teachers. Courses are open to undergraduates and graduates of any subject who are native speakers of, or completely fluent in, English. They take about 1 month and costs around £1,000. Cambridge ESOL courses (CELTA) and Trinity College London (TESOL) are known to be well established and respected worldwide and these qualifications are often specified by recruiters. See the

The finished graph will help students focus on the nature of the precipitation-streamflow relationship, and will eventually lead them on a search for additional data. In addition to seasonal variations, the nature of the streamflow-precipitation relationship can vary dramatically from one geographic area to another. The graphs that result from precipitation in the gently sloping and heavily vegetated terraine of this eastern Massachusetts watershed will look very different than graphs for locations that have less frequent occurances of rain, larger tracts of impervious surfaces, a warmer climate, or other differences that have an effect on the relationship.

Learning Goals
After completing this chapter, users will be able to:
  • download data from USGS and NOAA Web sites format the data and import it into Excel graph the data and investigate the patterns and relationships launch inquiries that can provide them with greater insights about the water cycle and its interactions with the geosphere and the biosphere
* Note: It is not necessary for students to locate and download the Web-based data themselves in order to engage in inquiry and deepen their understanding of the water and energy cycles. Some other options include:
