scrivi al Lions Club di Cernusco Servizio cani guida dei Lions Le scuole per cani guida (di solito pastori tedeschi, labrador e golden retriver) hanno lo scopo di addestrare gli animali a svolgere quelle attività per assistere i non-vedenti o le persone fisicamente handicappate ad avere una maggiore mobilità. Il periodo di addestramento per gli animali di uno o due anni di età va da 5 a 9 mesi durante il quale imparano ad essere fedeli compagni. I cani guida sono offerti gratuitamente, mentre sono a carico della persona le spese di trasporto per recarsi al luogo dell'addestramento e conoscere il proprio cane.
Il Servizio cani guida dei Lions, dal 1986 costituito in Ente Morale, cura l'addestramento per la successiva gratuita consegna di cani guida a non vedenti. Pur in un'epoca di elevata tecnologia, il cane guida è per ora l'unico mezzo per consentire a chi è privo del dono della vista, una sia pur relativa normalità di vita. In 1988, the Multiple District 22 Lions (Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia) established the Multiple District 22 Lions Vision Research Foundation (LVRF) for the sole purpose of supporting research at the Wilmer Eye Institute. The LVRF is a private, nonprofit foundation that secures and manages its own funds. It is governed by a 23-member Board of Trustees elected from the Multiple District 22 Lions membership, plus three Wilmer faculty. The Board oversees the Foundation's activities and finances, and informs Lions throughout the Multiple District of advances in research and patient care at Wilmer.
Our Mission
The primary purpose of the Lions Vision Research Foundation (LVRF) is to support low vision research and rehabilitation to minimize the disabilities caused by low vision and blindness. The objectives of the LVRF are being met through its partnership with the Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center (LVC), at the Wilmer Eye Institute of The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, Baltimore, Maryland. El lema de los Leones es "Nosotros Servimos" En 1925 Helen Keller dirigió la palabra a los Leones en su Convención Internacional anual para desafiarlos a que se convirtieran en "paladines del ciego en la cruzada contra las tinieblas", desde ese entonces, el servicio que los Leones ofrecen a los ciegos y a las personas con problemas visuales ha sido parte integral de las actividades más importantes de la Asociación. De esta cruzada se originó SIGHTFIRST , un programa mundial de conservación de la vista. Asimismo, los Leones participan en otras actividades de servicio que ponen de relieve la investigación, educación y prevención de la diabetes; el trabajo con el incapacitado físico y mental; problemas relacionados con la preservación del medio ambiente; bienestar de la comunidad; actividades juveniles y comprensión internacional.

Jones, a two-year starter on the UNA men's basketball team, was also a second-team All-GSC pick last season. A native of Morgan City, La., averaged 15.9 points and 10.3 rebounds for UNA this season, while shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 66.9 from the free throw line. He scored in double-figures 20 times this season and had 13 double-doubles. Gopher, a senior from Huntsville and two-year starter at UNA, averaged 16 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Lions.
