WELCOME
Its the last chance saloon for the Lions but especially Woodward. If they can pull off a win against New Zealand in the last test then they'll recover a bit of respect from this tour. If they loose, then Woodward, more than any player or coach on the tour, will return as a looser and a disapointment to British rugby.

110. Secondhand Lions
Review and pictures.
http://www.haro-online.com/movies/secondhand_lions.html
Secondhand Lions After watching Secondhand Lions , one thing is abundantly clear: it would be awesome to have Michael Caine and Robert Duvall as uncles. Even as crotchety as their characters are in the film. Secondhand Lions is an old-fashioned movie that makes people smile. There is nothing extraordinary about it except that it is really well told by writer/director Tim McCanlies ( Dancer, Texas Pop. 81 ), who knows a thing or two about movies like this, after all, he wrote Iron Giant ). It also helps that the caliber of acting here, with Caine, Duvall, and Haley Joel Osment, is amazing. The premise is that Walter (Osment, The Jungle Book 2 The Country Bears ) is spending the summer with his great-uncles Hub (Duvall, Open Range ) and Garth (Caine, The Quiet American Austin Powers in Goldmember ). Walter's mother (Kyra Sedgwick, Just a Kiss Personal Velocity ) says that she is off to court reporting school, but Walter knows better. His uncles are a different matter. The initial impression is that they are insane. They disappeared for years, before returning to live by themselves. They enjoy shooting at any salesmen that come onto their property, and have no idea how to care for a child. It is very obvious where this is going, and McCanlies doesn't even try to hide it. Hub and Garth could use some softening up, and Walter needs some sort of adult role model. Hub and Garth are frosty at first, but eventually warming up to Walter. It also turns out that rumors are swirling about how the two may have millions of dollars stashed away. Walter's mother wants Walter to find out where the money is, as do some other nosy relatives. Walter is curious, but in the end doesn't care. When prompted, Garth begins a fantastic yarn about how he and Hub spent time in the French Foreign Legion, fighting for their lives in Africa. McCanlies flashes back to the past, with Christian Kane (

and status of the South American sea Lion.......seal Conservation Society
http://www.pinnipeds.org/species/samslion.htm
South American Sea Lion
(Otaria flavescens) Distribution and Numbers
Also known as the Southern sea lion, and referred to by some scientists as Otaria byronia , the South American sea lion is found along the coasts and off-shore islands of South America. The limits of its range are Zorritos in northern Peru and Ilha dos Lobos in southern Brazil, although wandering individuals have been found as far north as Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands. Population figures for the species are incomplete. However the overall population is estimated to be about 265,000, consisting of roughly 30,000 in Peru, 128,500 in Chile, 90,000 in Argentina, 12,000 - 15,000 in Uruguay, 3,000 in the Falkland Islands, and a few hundred in Brazil. The populations in Uruguay and the Falkland Islands are decreasing rapidly while in most of Argentina and Chile they are increasing at an annual rate of around 3%. The species has no breeding colonies in Brazil, the small number of individuals found there having originated from the Uruguayan and Argentinean colonies to the south.

113. SCS: Steller Sea Lion (Eumetopias Jubatus)
and status of the Steller sea Lion.......seal Conservation Society
http://www.pinnipeds.org/species/steller.htm
Steller Sea Lion
(Eumetopias jubatus) Distribution and Numbers
Steller sea lions, also known as Northern sea lions, are the largest of the Otariidae (eared seals) and are distributed around the rim of the North Pacific Ocean from California to northern Japan. It was estimated in 2000 that the total range-wide number of Steller sea lions was roughly about 85,000, down from an estimated 240-300,000 in 1960. The world-wide population is generally divided into two stocks, based largely on genetic evidence, namely the "western population" (Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, Russia and small numbers in Japan) and the "eastern population" (California, Oregon, British Columbia and Southeast Alaska). Individuals have been known to wander as far south as the Bohai and Huanghai Seas in China.
Status
Although the eastern population has remained stable at an estimated 39,000 for the last few years, the western population of Steller sea lions has been declining rapidly in recent years, from an estimated total of 227,000 in 1960 to one of 45-46,000 in 2000. In 1997 the U.S. population of the Steller sea lion west of 144ºW (Cape Suckling, Alaska) was reclassified as Endangered under the Endangered Species Act, the remainder of the population remaining classified as
