THINKING ABOUT ART HISTORY Because fewer high schools offer AP art history courses than AP studio courses, not many prospective students enter Davidson intending to be art history majors. However, many first- and second-year students who prefer learning about art to making it fulfill their fine arts requirement by choosing one of the six to eight art history offerings available each semester. The scholarship program is divided into three sections. The three sections are: Each category has specific requirements that must be met for an application to be considered. The 4-H college scholarships are in addition to the scholarships awarded to advanced record book winners to attend National 4-H Congress. Arkansas 4-H members are eligible to receive only one 4-H college scholarship from each category of state 4-H scholarships: All attachments must be included with the scholarship applications and received in the state 4-H office by February 1 for the application to be considered. All applications must be signed by a member of the county Extension faculty in the member's home county to be considered. A state scholarship must be used within one year of the date of the award (with the exception of the Arkansas Livestock Show/Oaklawn Jockey Club Scholarships, in which case the scholarship must be used within 18 months). In the event the scholarship is not used within the year of limitation, the winner must submit a request for a time extension through the county Extension office where they resided at the time they became eligible for the award to the state 4-H office. It will only get thrown away from the receptionist opening the mail and photocopying the application for the selection committee. Double check all your materials before you send it off to the donor/sponsor. Make sure you enclose applications, transcripts, resume or whatever they have requested. Read the instruction very carefully before you start and when you are done. Many students in their rush to finish and go on to something else, forget to include key items. This is natural selection. Your application will be thrown out.
