Home of the Yale University sailing team, its facility is also open to members of the Yale community, and in the summer, to local residents for recreational sailing.
http://www.yale.edu/ycyc/
The Yale Corinthian Yacht Club, established in 1881, is the oldest collegiate sailing club in the world. Located on a beautiful rocky cove in Branford, CT., the club is a state of the art sailing facility and home to the Yale Varsity Sailing Team. The fleet consists of twenty-four 420 racing dinghies, augmented by FJs, Lasers, windsurfers and three safety launches. Our sailing area is located on open water and boasts what may be the finest wind and waves in all of college sailing. When the Westerly blows in the fall and spring, waves regularly build to 6 feet and the team practices surfing their boats down the breaking rollers. The Yale Sailing Team has produced scores of All-Americans, World Champions and Olympic Medalists in its long history. In fact, Yale sailors JJ Isler and Jonathan Mckee both won medals in the recent Sydney Olympics. The team is supported by an active alumni organization and a full time racing coach, Zack Leonard. In addition, the Yacht Club has recently undergone a renovation that replaced the aging club with a brand new club house. Email sailing@yale.edu

About Sailing Lessons
It is easy to learn to sail at OSU. Learn to Sail instruction for beginners is offered at a number of convenient times. Every Saturday afternoon all instruction is presented simultaneously. Begin any Saturday, and continue as your schedule allows. On-the-water practice begins after a boat orientation and basic instruction. After a time or two you should feel comfortable sailing on your own, and advancing as your free time and enthusiasm permit. OSUSC membership is not necessary for your first introductory, supervised, expert volunteer-taught classes. Just show up at the Sailing House, dressed for the weather, with sneakers that you can afford to get wet. You may bring a friend as a partner, but swimming ability is an absolute prerequisite for all on-the-water participation. If you like what you see and enjoy sailing with us you may become a member of our club for $25.
