We procure governmental approvals incident to real estate development from the applicable federal, state and local governmental authorities and agencies. In addition, in conjunction with the firm's environmental attorneys, we represent contractors, developers and companies in the procurement of permits and approvals at the federal, state and local levels pertaining to wetlands and other areas related to environmental issues in land use and real estate development. Our services include the negotiation of tax abatements and exemptions for qualified taxpayers, and have successfully negotiated state and local incentive packages for businesses involved in relocation. Real Estate Law
Real estate law concerns every aspect of commercial and residential transactions and investments. It involves issues related to the purchase and sale of property, including financing and development, construction contracts, real estate investments, property management, environmental compliance, and litigation relating to these areas. Real estate lawyers provide their clients with advice concerning all of these matters. They also help their clients navigate through the governmental zoning restrictions and land use regulations necessary in order to move forward with a real estate project. Real estate lawyers who work on commercial real estate often work in the real estate departments of large firms, many times working in conjunction with the environmental law and litigation departments. Other real estate lawyers work for the government, in the building and zoning departments of counties and municipalities. Real estate lawyers may also work for corporations, real estate development companies, financial or lending institutions, or title companies. Lawyers working in solo or small firms generally handle residential real estate transactions.

... Legal Information the Web Property connotes dominion or right of use, control, and disposition which one may lawfully exercise over things, objects, or land. There are two types of property, namely, real property and personal property. Real property refers to land which includes not only the face of the earth but everything of a permanent nature over or under it. This also includes structures and minerals. However, for the most part, provinces or states have exclusive jurisdiction over the land within their borders, and their laws concerning the kind of interests that can be held and how they are created is not subject to Federal law.
