Ensure a brighter and richer future for your child by encouraging him or her to read each day.
Reading to and with your child will promote growth in his or her reading ability as well as provide an enjoyable experience that will increase your child’s motivation to read.
A significant growth in reading ability typically occurs in the primary grades. Please spend time reading to and with your child daily. Encourage your child to read sometimes “all by him or herself,” and at other times to read a book with you.
All children enjoy listening to stories, so please make this activity a consistent part of your daily plan at home for reading success.

Written by Edward Hagen, Dept. of Anthropology, Univ. of Calif, Santa Barbara. Although written in stuffy academic language this is an excellent website that leads a student in a lineal sequence explaining this exciting new perspective in understanding human behavior. Study Guides and Strategies An excellent web site devoted to one subject: how to study and prepare for tests. Several languages available making this a potential planet gathering place.

NESFA Hugo recommended reading lists NESFA continues to maintain a list of Good Stuff to read. Any NESFA member who reads something that they would like to recommend to others to be considered for a Hugo nomination can add it to the list. We will publish it from time to time in Instant Message and on the nets. (Feel free to reproduce it provided you reproduce it intact!) It's neither definitive nor complete, but it contains the stories, novels and non-fiction works that a bunch of well-read fans feel may be worthy of a Hugo nomination. Even when the period for Hugo nominations is over, we will keep the lists for the current year, as well as previous years, available on the nets. It provides a reference source for finding a good book, as well as for Hugo recommendations. Lists for a given year tend to get updated until the Hugo nominees for that year are released, so that 1995 lists, for example, were being updated through early 1996. The Reading lists for the following years are available:
