Promoting packet in the mountainous region of Southern Oregon and Northern California.
http://www.qsl.net/soar/SOAPRA/
ASSOCIATION
NETWORK MEETINGS MINUTES ... LINKS
The Association
SOAPRA was formed to promote packet radio communications in the Southern Oregon and Northern California region. Line of sight VHF and UHF communications is quite difficult in this mountainous region and therefore an effective backbone network had to be established and maintained so packet radio can be used as more than just a point-to-point communications method. SOAPRA provides a mountain top network to enable and encourage both packet networking and keyboard-to-keyboard communications throughout Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath Counties in Oregon and Del Norte, Siskiyou Counties in California.
The Network
The SOAPRA network consists of the following:
Packet Network:
SOAPRA Nodestacks: Hamaker Mountain, Klamath Co. - King Mountain, Jackson/Josephine Co.
Soda Mountain, Jackson Co. Affiliate Nodestacks: Mount Sexton, Josephine Co. - Lane Mountain, Douglas Co.
Mahogany Peak, Siskiyou Co.
Keyboard Network:
SOAPRA Nodes: Roxy Anne Peak, Jackson Co.

Bryan Page Building and operating home brew transmitters and receivers is my favorite part of amateur radio. Sometimes I like to use tubes. At other times I may use transistors, integrated circuits, etc. I have been collecting parts off and on for over twenty years. I have hundreds of used but boxed tubes.
Some of the other hard-to-find parts that I try to collect are: tube sockets, ceramic components of all types, variable capacitors, transformers (power and audio), ferrite loop antennas, i. f. transformers, vernier drives, meter movements, and other boat anchor parts.
