Beate Winkler – “Simon Wiesenthal’s legacy will endure.” Beate Winkler made the following statement today on hearing of the news of the death of Simon Wiesenthal. “The EUMC learnt with great sadness of the death of Simon Wiesenthal, the prominent fighter to bring justice to the victims of the Holocaust. I remember him personally from the visits to his centre here in Vienna on a couple of occasions with the EUMC staff. Although Simon Wiesenthal was known notably as a Nazi hunter, his actions played a central role in raising awareness within Europe of the horrors of the Holocaust and the need for concerted action by government and civil society to ensure that it would never happen again. He leaves behind him a legacy which has become part of the fabric of the fight against anti-Semitism. It is a legacy which will endure.” New Call for Tender open for candidatures: PHARE_RAXEN - Establishment and operation of National Focal Points in Bulgaria and Romania with the objective to collect data and information and conduct research and studies on racism, xenophobia and antisemitism. Ref. N° EUMC 2005/02/06 [ more information The European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC) welcomes the Commission's legislative proposals concerning the establishment of a European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights.

"...everyday brings fresh talk of enemies in our midst. The BNP senses an opportunity, and they are working flat out to establish themselves as a voice in british politics. This gig and this campaign is a wake up call to the complacent and the apathetic to say 'get off your arse - they must be stopped!"
In regard to the BNP, most of them don't know anything about themselves or their own history, let alone anyone elses! Black people have never attacked England or invaded it. My Mother and Father were invited here. So why do the BNP hate us when we built the place along with all the other slave colonies? Ms Dynamite

Contact us Rock Against Racism Twenty years ago, a group of musicians and political activists came together to form Rock Against Racism. It was a movement formed in reaction to rising xenophobia and racism fuelled by Nazi organisations like the National Front. Rock Against Racism stood for "Rebel music, street music. Music that breaks down people's fear of one another. Crisis music. Now music. Music that knows who the real enemy is. Rock Against Racism. Love Music Hate Racism." The most memorable Rock Against Racism event was the April 1978 "Carnival against the Nazis". A huge rally of 100,000 people marched the six miles from Trafalgar Square through London's East End - the heart of National Front territory - to a Rock Against Racism concert in Victoria Park, Hackney. X-Ray Spex, The Clash, Steel Pulse, and Tom Robinson were on the bill - a diverse selection of music for a diverse multi-cultural crowd. Today the Anti Nazi League is campaigning again in the name of Love Music Hate Racism - a demonstration of the positive energy of the music scene against the hate-fuelled beliefs of the British National Party, National Front and Combat 18. I respectfully urge you to send it over-and-over again
for the next two months to every European American you know.
    REBUKE CENSUS RACISM
Moderate European Americans in Silicon Valley and surrounding areas are deeply concerned about the racism embedded in the USA 2000 Census forms. All diverse European Americans are immorally constrained on the form to accept one, and only one, designation - a racial designation based on skin color, and only skin color. Our richly textured diversity (continental origin, national origins, and ethnicities) is literally smothered by insensitive bureaucrats who developed the labels that are used in USA 2000 Census forms. These bureaucrats ignored many hours of testimony at hearings over the past ten years asking that national origins, continental origin, and ethnicities be made available to European-Americans as they are to other ethnic groups. No other ethnicity is coerced into agreeing to a single designation. We urge all European Americans to consider ways of legally rebuking the explicit racism underlying the USA 2000 Census. Our children need to see their diversity in census results.

The games that we play today are virtually the same games we played ninety years ago with a few exceptions. The first difference is the equipment we play with. The second difference is the skill level of the players. The third and possibly most important difference is integration of the games. If you take away the new equipment, and the players skill levels you still have the same game with the same basic principle. However, if you take away the integration of the game you would take away a whole other dimension that people of different race have brought to the game we play. Golfers would still be driven balls without tees. Players like Hank Aaron, Tiger Woods, and Muhammad Ali would never have rewritten the record books. Most importantly, however, these players of other races would still be playing in obscurity never being recognized for the greatness of their athletic ability. On this web page, we will examine the change in sports
