More Information 4-H Camping Each year more than 26,000 youth ages five to 18 participate in 4-H camps. There are three different types of 4-H camps: residential camping, specialty/day camps, and 4-H school enrichment based upon the Virginia Standards of Learning. "4- H camps help children to begin to realize their full potential in the areas of leadership and various skills. Although campers learn traditional camp activities like swimming and environmental education, the most important things that children learn at 4-H camp is how to take care of themselves and how to develop positive relationships with others," said Garst. Class Location All aquatic classes are held in the state-of-the-art RPAC natatorium (see page 3 for parking information). The instructional pool has an adjustable floor, ranging from zero depth entry to 9 feet, enabling even the tiniest of tots to stand on the bottom.
