April 25, 2002 Presentation by Albert Shulte On April 25, 2002, at Elliot Hall on the Oakland University campus in Rochester Michigan, Dr. Shulte gave a talk on statistical education at the Kindergarten to 12th grade (K-12) level in Michigan. Dr. Shulte has taught extensively at the high school and university levels and has served as a consultant in mathematics education to the Oakland schools in Michigan. His PhD. dissertation was on the teaching of probability and statistics to the ninth grade general Mathematics students. He has served on the Joint Committee of ASA and NCTM on the K-12 teaching of statistics. When asked what our Chapter could do for the advancement of statistics in the schools, he responded that we could hook up with AP Statistics teachers to be guest lecturers or speak at a Mathematics Association meeting.
