No, you can clean everything but using gloves. No other birth defects contributed to the animal you've mentioned.
No, the toxoplasma transmission to the mother is oral not inhaling. Maybe the doctor is extra careful.
No problem if no heavy activities are done.

Have you ever wondered just what happened in the world of pigs? How on earth did we get from "there" to "here"? J ust what changes have occurred through the last ten or twelve years and what was the reason behind them? What is the reason for the people that are still here that were here in the beginning, the ones who just recently became involved with pigs and the ones who are no longer involved with pigs? In other words: Just what has been the evolution of the pet Potbellied Pig and the people who have them?

What are the most common wild animals people try to take in to their homes?
  • Iguanas Parrots Wild Cats
What problems do they encounter? Iguanas People are surprised at the cost of equipment and maintenance involved with keeping an iguana in their homes. Most people are unaware of how large these reptiles grow to be or how long they live. (They can live to be 14 years old.) They are not prepared for the amount of care these exotic creatures require. Also, the males can become very aggressive. The zoo gets about a call a day from people who would like to discontinue living with these reptiles they've purchased. Bearded Dragons are a great alternative to Iguanas. They are easier to care for properly. Their equipment and food is much less expensive. And best of all they do not grow to be big and aggressive.

Female Pig Survey
To spay or not to spay?that is the question. Actually, it's not. Veterinarians generally are first in line to urge spaying and neutering of pet animals, potbellied pigs included. I even spayed a young Yorkshire gilt for a lady who was raising her as a pet! Reasons often given for the necessity of removing the uterus and ovaries include better temperament, eliminating the chance for unwanted and abused piglets, and lessening the possibility of uterine infections and cancer. Huge ovarian cysts and other abnormal growths have been reported in intact potbellied sows. So the real question is: How likely is that to happen to your pig? Well, this survey aims to find out. If you own or are working with a mature potbellied female whether spayed or unspayed, your participation in this survey would be deeply appreciated. The more we know about these special porcines, the better health care we can provide. Dr. Lou Anne Wolfe Click HERE to take the Survey online!

by Kathleen From The Pig Pen
Owning a Potbellied Pig will be a long-term relationship; you should ask yourself a few serious questions to determine if you are ready to become a potbellied pig owner.
Be sure and answer the following questions honestly so that both you and the pig have the future you deserve:
· Have I done enough research and do I have enough information about the pig's temperament, size, training methods, daily care, and health care to know if a pig is the right pet for me?
· Can I afford to take good care of my pig?
· Do I have the time to properly train my pig?
· Will a pig fit into my lifestyle and my home? IS A POTBELLIED PIG RIGHT FOR YOU?
Are you confused about how to select a pig? You should do some homework to make sure that you select the right pig for you and your family. Many Internet sites can help you begin your research with a description of the potbellied pig as a pet. For extended research, there are several books available which give more details about the pigs.
As you research the pig, always be honest with yourself. Think about your community. Does your community have restrictions concerning the potbellied pig as a pet? Think about your home. Do you have the proper environment required to adequately care for a potbelly? Analyze your lifestyle, locations, and the physical characteristics of your home and grounds. Are you gone a lot? Who will watch your pig? Does your pig have a space to call her own in both your yard and home? Is your yard fenced? Can you provide a private space for your pig in your home? Do you have the time necessary to properly train your pig? These are crucial questions regarding the safety of your pig and being a responsible neighbor. Remember it is OK to change your mind about owning a potbellied pig Before You Buy A Pig.

Pot Belly Pigs - Essentials for Breed Fanciers
It is a well-known fact that some people are so devoted to their Pot Belly Pigs that often sleep with them and can easily tell the pet's mood or a health state by the look or a breath of the animal. This affection between humans and pigs can be easily understood if one takes a closer look at the creature. It should be said that swine are the third intelligent animals after apes and dolphins. They appear to be highly trainable and amusing. Generally, owning a Pot Belly Pig can be rather rewarding. Photo source:
Broken Bridle Farm Nevertheless, this is not the whole truth about Pot Belly Pigs. No matter how intelligent and quick responding these animals can be, they are not free maintenance pets and require a great deal of care and training. This is often overlooked by many people inspired by a picture of a trained pig on TV that shows incredible tricks! Nowadays, sanctuaries are stuffed with Pot Belly Pigs waiting to be re homed and cared for them. Photo source:
KuneKuneKune Therefore, despite the fact that the breed has been promoted as a wonderful pet lately, it is not recommended for the majority of people. The breed will do OK as a pet on the condition the owner is aware of its needs and is ready to supply it with essential care. Before buying a Pot Belly Pig, future owners are advised to ponder the cons and pros of owning the breed. Note that some pluses of the breed can easily turn into minuses on certain conditions!

This web page is dedicated to Hairless guinea pigs (Skinny and Baldwin). Some people think they're ugly, some people think they're pretty, and reminds them of a small hippo or miniature horse. This depends on people's imagination , but nobody is indifferent when they see pictures of Hairless guinea pigs, or the guinea pigs themselves. We guess you'll never be here if you don't like them :-). Well for those of you who don't know it, Hairless guinea pigs are relatively a new variety of guinea pigs, and you couldn't find much information about these cute little creatures from the web (actually, I do have a few links to other people's pages, so you can take a look at them from here ). They are not as popular yet as other short and long haired types of guinea pigs and more expensive because of it.

98. Caring For Your Miniature Potbelly Pig
With proper training, miniature potbelly pigs make great pets. With proper training and care, they make wonderful, loving pets.
http://flfl.essortment.com/miniaturepotbe_rghv.htm
Caring for your miniature potbelly pig
With proper training, miniature potbelly pigs make great pets. There are specific recommendations for feeding, training, and grooming a pot-bellied pig.
The miniature pot-bellied pig is becoming increasingly popular. These intelligent creatures require a lot of love and attention, so it is important to take this into consideration before adopting a miniature pot-bellied pig as a member of your family. With proper training and care, they make wonderful, loving pets. According to the website article entitled "Pot-Bellied Pig References", written and published in 1998 by Betty Willis, the miniature pot-bellied pig is indigenous to China and the southeastern part of Asia. It says these pigs, which have evolved over millions of years, were first introduced to North America in the mid 1980's, and now there are more than 35,000 in the United States. The PetSupport USA website article entitled "Pot-Bellied Pig", describes the temperament of the miniature pot-bellied pig. It says these good-natured pets are usually quiet, but they can be very vocal when they want something. Miniature pot-bellied pigs are loyal companions much like a dog, and they can be trained the same way. They are social creatures that are very devoted to their family. Even though they are usually friendly and loving, the miniature pot-bellied pig should have its canine teeth removed. These teeth are quite sharp and can inflict serious unintentional injuries. Miniature pot-bellied pigs live an average of twelve to eighteen years, according to the website article "Miniature Pot-Bellied Pigs FAQ", published in 2000 by PetsMart.com. It says they are typically black, have pointed ears, cloven hooves, and a mature adult weighs around 125 pounds. Male pot-bellied pigs have tusks that will need to be trimmed on a regular basis. Miniature pot-bellied pigs have bad eyesight, but they possess a tremendous sense of smell.

Case ID: 2694 Classification: Bestiality Animal: pig View more cases in LA (US) Login to Watch this Case Ouachita Parish Sheriff deputies arrested a West Monroe man for committing a crime against nature Monday night. Deputies arrested Austin Gullette, 45, 4266 Jonesboro Road, West Monroe, for allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with a pig.
Gullette's sister, owner of the pig, said she caught her brother in the act. She said she walked outside because she heard squealing and discovered her brother with one of her three pigs.
When the witness confronted her brother, she said he took off running into the woods.
Deputies left the pig, a 125-pound Vietnamese potbelly, in the care of the owner, who said someone would come out to her residence to see about the animal.
"I'm embarrassed that this is my brother," she said. "I've never in my life seen anyone do this to a harmless little animal."
Maj. Royce Toney, with the OPSO, agreed that the event was a rare incident.
