    Always stay on the move. A stationary target is a dead target, and you never know when there's someone on the other side of the map using a sniper rifle to draw a bead on your mellon. With very few exceptions (see the next tip below), don't ever stop moving, especially when in a firefight. Learn to use the mouse so you can aim while moving around to dodge your opponents' attacks.

    WORLDGUIDE Introduction See Image Gallery Events Transport Money Essential Info RELATED Thorn Tree Forum Postcards Travel Links Australia's biggest attraction is its natural beauty. The landscape varies from endless sunbaked horizons to dense tropical rainforest to chilly southern beaches. Scattered along the coasts, its cities blend a European enthusiasm for art and food with a laid-back love of sport and the outdoors. Visitors expecting to see an opera in Sydney one night and meet Crocodile Dundee the next will have to re-think their grasp of geography in this huge country. It is this sheer vastness that gives Australia - and its diverse population - much of its character.

    Pierson's Puppeteer Technology
    Despite the disappearance of their empire, Puppeteers products continute to revolutionize the technology of Human Space. Famous examples of their technology are Stepping Disks , the Quantum II Hyperdrive General Products Hulls and Hyperwave The caution of the Puppeteers makes them unwilling to use any products but their own. The reliability of The General Products Corporation drive systems, legendary hulls, stasis fields, and other items, combined with the Puppeteer's reputation of universal cowardice, has made other races share that faith. All Puppeteer artifacts share the same features of design. Furniture, weapons, and tools are perfectly smooth, as if made of frozen mercury; there are no sharp edges or corners. All work with unobtrusive perfection and are equally expensive, but worth the additional cost. A puppeteer constructed Flashlight laser. Rendered by Steve Sloan Source File: FL_laser.zip The creations of the Puppeteers are often multifunctional to the point where the user feels there is a deliberate attempt to hide more dangerous features. For instance, the flashlight laser can be used as a normal electric torch or as a deadly weapon. The Puppeteer disintegrator has a double aperture, one for supressing the negative charge of an atom, the other positve; when both barrels are used, an electric arc creates a powerful explosion. The caution of the Puppeteers does not allow the race to believe such "additional features" are weapons, as they always avoid anything dangerous. However, if someone in their employ finds a lethal use for a harmless device, especially as a means to provide the Puppeteer with protection, then that just means the device is better designed than planned.

Pluto is smaller than the Earth's Moon and it orbits so far from the Sun that it is only a bright speck in the strongest telescopes. The Hubble Space Telescope has provided scientists with the best images of the distant planet, though all those images show are a planet of light and dark contrasts. Unlike the gas giants of the outer solar system, Pluto is a small, icy planet. It may resemble Neptune's moon Triton, which is slightly larger and nearly the same distance from the sun. On Creating an Earthlike Planet
    Geoff's homepage Last updated: 11 March 2005 Brian Davis , if you're reading this and wondering why you haven't heard from me: I lost your email address and all your emails when my computer died. Aargh.] This page is intended to help role-players and authors of sci-fi and fantasy to, as the title suggests, create a world which resembles the Earth - that is, a world in which humans could live and develop societies similar to those with which we are familiar. The key ingredient here is familiarity . Worlds which are substantially different from the Earth are certainly interesting, but they need more effort and imagination to create, and I'd personally prefer to channel my imagination into the story rather than the setting. People with alien tastes may nevertheless find some material of interest here anyway, particularly in the Astronomy and Geology sections. The wildly different lengths of the sections reflect three factors:
    • What I know and have got around to writing;
    • How much freedom the subject allows you;

    P.O. Box 577, New York, NY 10185 Celestial News II It is a case that can best be called The Case Of THE COMET THAT SPEAKS SUMERIAN On July 4th 2005, a NASA spacecraft named Deep Impact thrust out a metal probe devised to collide with a comet named Tempel-1. The purpose of the planned collision was to ascertain the true makeup of such a primordial comet by observing and analyzing the impact and its resulting debris. San Francisco Chronicle of 9/9/05). Among the perplexing emerging findings are these: the minerals of limestones and seashells that are formed only in liquid water. a Mission scientist, according to the New York Times form of the mineral that requires at least 1300 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures to form living organisms Christian Science Monitor A Comet in The Wrong Place Comet Tempel-1 is not a new comet. It was discovered in 1867 by Ernst W. L Tempel of Marseille, France, and its very short period of less than six (Earth) years was determined that same year by C. Bruhns of Leipzig, Germany. It was thereafter observed on and off until it and its slightly changed orbit were re-determined in 1963 by the American astronomer B.G. Marsden. Yet it is beyond doubt that the comet has been orbiting the Sun in a relatively limited and nearby part of the solar system, between Mars and Jupiter, as the NASA-released skymap shows:
