Armagh Planetarium The Armagh Planetarium is host to one of the largest telescopes available for public use in Ireland and these Web pages give full details of how to attend one of the public telescope nights (usually twice a month) and the other facilities offered by the planetarium to give the public access to the science of astronomy. Among the features of the Web pages are a "virtual tour" of the planetarium's assorted galleries and exhibits and details of the programme of "Star shows", audio-visual presentations given in the planetarium's "Star Theatre". Planetariums Astronomy Astrodome Astrodome is a portable planetarium available for hire by schools. The planetarium offers presentations on astronomy and geography. The astronomy presentation covers such topics as night and day, the seasons, planets, stars, comets and galaxies, while the geography presentation features topics such as dinosaurs, volcanoes and earthquakes, while providing a journey from the formation of the solar system to the future of the earth. Booking information is available from the website. The site also provides a wealth of astronomy and geography information online ranging from fact files and glossaries to information on the night sky and links to many other relevant organisations. Traveling exhibitions Science - Study and teaching - Aids and devices Planets Planetariums ... Explorer dome Explorer dome is a travelling planetarium operated by two young scientists. They travel throughout the UK presenting shows for schools that are linked to the curriculum as well as hands- on science experiments suitable for all ages. The current shows cover light, sound, the human body, space, forces, planet earth, chemistry and creation. The site has booking information for the shows as well as a 'hall of fame' page of work sent in from schools and a small section on the solar system.

Presentations History Other planetariums 1.) Planetarium in the Forum der Technik There is a second projection planetarium on the museum island in the Forum der Technik. It is situated in the former congress center of the museum and has been in use since December 1993. Its dome has a diameter of 20 meters and offers 270 seats. Whereas the presentations of the Zeiss Planetarium in the Deutsches Museum give short and introductory information, the presentations in the planetarium of the Forum der Technik are more complex and concentrate on more specific topics. Thus both planetariums complement each other. The Forum der Technik is run independently from the Deutsches Museum. The projector "Zeiss VII" used in their planetarium is a loan from the Deutsches Museum.
