document.write(sMenu); Welcome to the O.A.T.S. Website! O.A.T.S. is a volunteer based organization dedicated to enriching the lives and experiences of children and adults with disabilities. We offer an activity that is both therapeutic and fun, in a safe, supportive environment. Here at O.A.T.S we offer several exciting events throughout the year for our riders, their families and our volunteers. Events such as our yearly horseshow (The Mane Event), golf outing (Divot-Up for O.A.T.S), dinner dance and Christmas party create a family atmosphere for all to enjoy. Be sure to visit our events page to view photos from this year?s activities. Welcome to the dreamland of horses . . . The O.A.T.S. Mission To promote the health, well-being and happiness of handicapped individuals through horseback riding and related activities. O.A.T.S. Magical things happen when a physically and/or emotionally handicapped person discovers the world from horseback. At O.A.T.S., the magic shows in our students' improved posture, balance and muscle control. The thrill and challenge of a horse riding lesson improves their flexibility, reflex time, coordination, and concentration. Each activity is more like play than work for the rider, and repetitive movements and mental exercise are all part of the fun. O.A.T.S. volunteers experience the benefit of bringing horses and the disabled together. A child smiles when grooming a horse or pony, a task that produces new physical strength, enhances motor skills, and promotes better coordination. We hear the magic when a previously non-verbal child commands their horse to "Walk on!". Most of all, we see the magic in the SMILES of our students, families and volunteers.

Physical Therapy Board RENEWALS ARE IN THE MAIL RENEWAL NOTICES FOR THE JUNE 1, 2005 RENEWAL CYCLE ARE IN THE MAIL , post marked April 28, 2005; they are out a little later than anticipated. Our projected date of April 15 was interrupted by computer system problems. By state law the board office has to have the notices in the mail to the licensee’s 30 prior to the expiration date. In the past we have aimed for 45-days as a convenience for the licensee’s. If you have the capability to renew on line, we highly recommend taking advantage of this option. This will help in expediting your license and assuring that you will receive your renewed license on or before the expiration date. Our function is to license physical therapists (physiotherapists) and physical therapist assistants. The Board assures that eligible applicants are licensed and regulates continuing education, the use of assistants and any discipline of licensees.
The Board consists of five members appointed by the governor. Three members are physical therapists who are residents of the state and two members are citizens appointed from the public at large who are not associated with, or financially interested in, any health care profession. All appointments are made for staggered terms of three years, and no member can serve for more that two successive three-year terms. For Board meeting dates, please contact the Board Office at (505) 476-4596.
