Provides descriptions of Canadian information resources created for the Internet, including general digital collections, resources centered around a particular theme, and reference sources and databases.
http://www.collectionscanada.ca/initiatives/index-e.html
The Canadian Inventory of Digital Initiatives provides links to, and descriptions of digitized Canadian resources created for the Web. These initiatives include digital collections centred around themes and collections, reference sources, and databases. The Inventory provides an overview of each submission that includes its name, participating organizations, content description, subject categories (broad Dewey decimal classes), and contact information. This information supports a useful search mechanism for visitors. All organizations or individuals who create Web content relevant to Canadians are encouraged to submit their initiative(s) whether they are in the planning stages, or completed. You can also use the Inventory to search out themes similar to your planned initiative to avoid costly duplication, or to explore partnerships. Submission forms are available in English, French, or in bilingual format.

Introduction: Scope and Arrangement of the List
A growing number of libraries, archives, and museums offer ready access to their visual materials through Web-based searchable databases that focus on photographs, prints, and drawings. The Prints and Photographs Division, for instance, offers the Prints and Photographs Online Catalog (PPOC) , which provides access to a large cross-section of images. Other institutions' databases offer regional and subject strengths that may not be available anywhere else. This list of online picture catalogs will help you find historical, documentary images described and, often, pictured in such databases. The selection of about 50 catalogs is representative rather than exhaustive.
