Home Admissions Services Administration ... Contacting us "The School of Humanities is an open, friendly, stimulating and welcoming environment that brings together a group of related disciplines - American studies, art history, cinema, English, history, modern languages, linguistics, music and philosophy - in a common endeavour to study, understand and disseminate knowledge of the historical, literary and artistic manifestations of human existence.
Our student body is diverse and cosmopolitan, and our new curriculum encourages our students to take courses in more than one discipline, both through a set of joint degrees and through interdisciplinary programmes that give access to a wealth of ideas and approaches to thought and culture.
At postgraduate level, the School maintains a strong link between teaching and research, building on the work of the Humanities Graduate Research Centre , which has for some years demonstrated the value and excitement of inter-disciplinary work. We have a healthy number of postgraduate students and research-active faculty who work together to create a thriving and distinctive research culture.
The idea of the humanities encompasses the performing and creative arts as well as traditional academic disciplines. Focusing on this aspect has already led to a new programme in the study of cinema that is part of a broader goal to enhance the study of visual culture in the School. We will follow this up with developments in music, drama and creative writing that will enrich our intellectual and cultural life."

The science of evolution reveals secrets of Nature and the true history of life that are scary at first, but more realistic than our old beliefs in man as the central purpose of the universe The impact of evolution on man's inflated ego forces every thinking man and woman to face the mystery of life and the universe, anew:
I. There is no such thing as god... there never was...
II. Man, be he swinging in trees, or crawling on his belly like a worm in war... doesn't get a special afterlife. Death really is death... inescapable, and final.

Consider with me the marriage rite
The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for the mutual companionship, help, and support that each person ought to receive from the other, both in prosperity and adversity. Marriage was also ordained so that man and woman may find delight in one another and thus avoid sexual immorality. Therefore all persons who marry shall live within their vows and so keep themselves undefiled as members of the body of Christ. Finally, God established marriage for the procreation of children to be brought up in the fear and instruction of the Lord and to offer Him their praise. So has God established the holy estate that Name and Name wish to enter. They desire our prayers as they begin their marriage in the Lord's name and with His blessing.
