http://www.philosopher.org/about.html
A Message from SPI's Founder (Written way back in 1997)
I'm a philosophical inquirer who is devoted to helping philosophy regain its rightful place as a vibrant and vital component of the lives of people who hail from many disparate walks of life. I believe philosophy is the quintessential vehicle for honing one's critical thinking skills, and for cultivating the humanities and pluralism, arguably the lifeblood of civilization. Surprisingly, these "philosophical outreach activities," as I call them, have received some national notoriety; they were deemed of enough interest to merit features in the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle , National Public Radio's All Things Considered, Public Radio International's The World, and San Mateo Times, among many others. The only point in mentioning any of this is that clearly there is interest on a number of fronts in "applying" philosophy (which simply is tantamount to doing philosophy). For those who agree to some degree with at least some of what I've said here, I hope you will consider becoming part of the newly founded Society for Philosophical Inquiry, or, for the acronym lover, SPI.

18. TRICOS: The Door To Cosmic Consciousness - Index Page
Attempts to provide a community for those wishing to experience the TRICOS philosophy, by means of information, discussion lists, encounter groups, and recreation centers.
http://www.tricos.org/
[INDEX PAGE]
TRICOS Cosmic consciousness, philosophy, health and happiness, love, sex, life, death, community, enlightenment, healing, religion, occultism, majick, god, nirvana, karma, spirituality, mysticism, paranormal, supernatural, the absolute, psychic phenomena, reincarnation, growth, trust, truth, mind power, time, light, colour, the soul, sacred, good and evil, and astrology: ALL these things are dealt with in a very frank and open manner in the TRICOS philosophy.
The TRICOS website contains no nudity, profanity, pornography, violence or racist material, and would be considered suitable for children by most rating systems. However, it is designed for adults, and those of about 40 years maturity are most likely to be able to appreciate its aims. Therefore, if you are under 18 years of age, you may find it boring, and we suggest that you visit an alternative site.
