FOR THE TRAVELLER, the Philippines is favourable located, with relatively short distances to Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong ( ). Despite this, it has never drawn such enormous masses of tourists as for example Thailand, and the greater part of the country is still virginal and unexploited. This is naturally reflected in the warmth and friendliness of the local people, and you may practically find your own paradise island where no tourist ever has even left a footprint in the sand. If you're looking for a country to explore, you really should try the Philippines.
GEOGRAPHICALLY, the country is divided in to three main regions; Luzon in the north, the Visayas in the centre, and Mindanao in the south. The captiol Manila is located in the north on the island of Luzon. The poulation is
THE POLITICAL SITUATION in the Philippines was a bit worried after the election of the new president Gloria Arroyo Macapagal in January 2001, who replaced the former president Joseph Estrada. There have also been trouble with rebel groups on the islands close to Malaysia (the Mindanao-area). It is important to know that the demonstrations and reported on the news took place in Manila, and that the troubled region in the south is located an hours flight away from Malapascua. The countryside in the Visayas is as peaceful as ever. The Philippines is still a safe place for tourists, if you avoid the troubled regions in the south, near Malaysia. The situation is similar to the one in India, where the state of Kashmir is the subject of battles between the state and rebels. And still, India is considered to be a safe place to travel, as long as one avoids Kashmir; both India and the Philippines are very large countries.

Geography The official count of islands that form the Republic of the Philippines is 7,107 islands. However, of these islands, only 2,000 are inhabited. The biggest islands are Luzon and Mindanao which cover roughly 66% of the country's total land area of 307, 055 sq. km. From north to south, the nation's archipelago stretches for 1,840 km while spanning 1,100 km from east to west. This island nation can be divided into four main groups. The first group is Luzon, the largest and northernmost island, which is also the site for the country's capital, Manila. Mindanao, the second largest island at the other end of the map together with Sulu form the second group. The third group is the tightly packed island group called the Visayas, which is made up of seven major islands namely Panay, Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Samar and Masbate. Finally, to the west, lies the province of Palawan with over 1,700 islands. With a make up of as many as 7,107 islands in the Western Pacific Ocean, it is not surprising that traveling in the Philippines archipelago can tax your flexibility and patience. Don't be surprised if you were told that it would take 20 years to cover all 7,107 islands even if you only spent a day on each of the island.

Sexual relationships in the Philippines

If you are traveling to the Philippines, you may be interested in sexual relationships with locals, and no, I do not mean the services of prostitutes or other commercial providers. While you can meet Filipinas or Filipinos interested in sex accidentally, the chances of success are not particularly high if you are there only for a limited period of time. On the other hand, Filipinas and Filipinos often are sexually attracted to foreign people. For young Filipinas, it is chic to have a Western boyfriend. So, there must be a trick to overcome the time-consuming "accidental", and to link more effectively the sexual interests of foreign visitors with those of locals. Try the Internet. Or, more to the point: try www.AdultfriendsFinder.com . The service lists some 15,000 Philippines residents explicitly interested in non-commercial sexual relationships. While there are more males on the search than females, there are indeed an amazing number of women using the service. Listings are divided into categories: men seeking women, women seeking men, men seeking men, women seeking women, men seeking couples or groups, and women seeking couples or groups.
