NATIONAL MUSIC CONSERVATORY In 1986, the National Music Conservatory (NMC) was established to encourage the development of accomplished musicians and to promote music appreciation in Jordan.
The NMC offers Pre-College and College Programs in Western and Arab music, enabling students, as young as three years old, to pursue their music education and to participate in international competitions, seminars, workshops, and master classes. The Pre-College program offers beginner to advanced instruction in all instruments and voice. The College program offers a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance (instrumental or vocal), Composition and Conducting and Arab Music, in collaboration with Jordan’s Yarmouk University. To date, the NMC has instructed over 4200 young students.
The National Music Conservatory’s Children Orchestra performs at the Jerash Festival of Culture of Arts
The NMC is the local representative of the British Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). It organizes and administers the ABRSM’s annual practical and theoretical music examinations to over 1000 students a year.

Since 1978, thousands of young people have spent their summers learning, growing and making friends at TPAS. TPAS utilizes more than 31 acres of wooded river banks, open air stages, renovated farm buildings and other facilities to carry out its programs. Trollwood Performing Arts School’s 26-year history of service to youth through arts education has recently been acknowledged with several prestigious awards. In December, 2002 the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities selected TPAS as a Coming Up Taller Award winner, one of only 11 organizations across the nation to be chosen for their outstanding youth arts programs.
