The South Lane County Team supervises more than 200 offenders that are supervised for convictions of crimes against people, drug crimes, property crimes, domestic violence and sex offenses. Lauch said his agency is trying to locate an office for its East Lane County Team, which serves Springfield and Highway 126 East to McKenzie Bridge and Marcola Road east to Marcola. He said two officers are assigned to the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team, known as INET; one officer assigned to gangs; one officer assigned to a HUD Housing Project in Springfield; and three officers working at both the Whiteaker and University Community Policing stations. Adult Community Supervision Offices

The Florida Department of Corrections currently supervises over 148,000 offenders in the community at accredited offices, including 151 field or administrative offices statewide. The state is divided into three regions and a regional office supports each. The Central Office of Community Corrections is located in Tallahassee and provides support, direction and operational oversight to regional offices and field staff. The three regions are divided according to judicial circuits. Each circuit office contains a number of offices within a county or counties that provide an offender access for reporting and meeting with their individual officers. Each office independently conducts interviews, investigations and drug testing as required. Depending on the level of community supervision, offenders report in for supervision daily, weekly, monthly or as directed by the releasing authority. In addition to office reporting, officers visit offenders at their home, employment sites and a variety of field locations. It is the goal of Community Corrections to ensure offender compliance with the orders of the sentencing /releasing authority. Increased standards for supervision provide for the enhanced safety of the community. From this site you may browse the circuit and office profiles which are grouped by region. Address information for each office is provided on the Circuit Office information page.

Back NORTH DAKOTA PAROLE AND PROBATION HISTORY By Sharon Bachmeier, Community Corrections Agent, ND Division of Field Services The concept of parole was first discussed in 1888 in a report generated by the ND State Penitentiary directed to the governor of the Dakota Territory. A few years later, the ND State Penitentiary initiated an early release program for short-time prisoners to the custody of an employer, typically a farmer. The local sheriff returned parole violators to the prison when the employer tired of them, usually after harvest. The ND Pardon Board assumed the duties of paroling authority in 1939. At that time, the Legislature authorized the Executive Branch to hire a staff of one person to manage parolees. Art Vandal was appointed Chief Parole Officer. Mr. Vandal was responsible for the development of the ND parole and probation laws, the supervision of parolees, and the duties of clerk to the ND Pardon Board. In 1963 the Legislature authorized a dual board system which allowed the ND Pardon Board to review requests for pardon and required the development of a separate Parole Board to review requests for parole. The two boards worked independently of each other.

Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision
The compact governs the travel, movement, and supervision of adult probationers or parolees from a sending state, where they have been convicted of crimes, to a receiving state.
Forty-eight (48) states have now enacted legislation to amend the 1937 interstate compact for supervision of adults on parole or probation. In a 1997 NIC survey, states reported that over 115,000 adult offenders (3% of all active probation/parole cases) had been transferred from one state to another, and it is estimated than an equal number of offenders receive authorization annually to travel across state lines for various reasons. Provisions of the 1937 compact have proven inadequate for maintaining control of this offender population, leading to the current effort to modernize the compact.

http://www.montcopa.org/countyoffices/adultprob.htm
ADULT PROBATION Courtordered supervision of individuals over 17 years of age on probation or parole is a major function of this department. Some 8,000 individuals are under supervision on probation, parole and intermediate punishment. Supervision visits are made in the home and the community for all County resident offenders. Probation/parole officers assess offenders' needs and risk to the community, set the level of supervision, and recommend appropriate placement in either psychiatric, drug or alcohol or sexual offender counseling. Probation officers also prepare presentence investigations for the Court on defendants awaiting sentence. These reports are biographical in nature, covering prior criminal record, family history, educational and employment history, as well as any prior treatment for addiction. In the event an offender is charged with violating probation or parole, the probation officer prepares the case in conjunction with the District Attorney's office and may testify in Court as to the violations.
