Binary/Decimal Palindromes
Introduction:
The following is a unique set of numbers that are palindromic (read the same backward as they read forward) in both Base-2 (binary) and Base-10 (decimal). Finding these numbers gets harder and harder as the numbers get bigger and bigger, but I keep searching because the next big number might be right around the corner! It would not be too hard to pick up where I left off and calculate the next big palindrome. This list is all-inclusive up to the last entry. In other words, I haven't skipped any numbers that should be on this list. Be sure to e-mail me if you find any new binary/decimal palindromes!
Latest List:
Algorythms:
Here
is my first program. I originally wrote this in Pascal during my junior-high school years, but more recently (in the 90s) rewrote the algorythm in C so that I could get a bigger list from the faster processors at the time.
The algorythm is very basic:
It increments a binary counter, then produces a binary palindrome from it by mirroring it (and also inserting a and 1, so there are 3 cases per binary counter number), then converting it to decimal, and finally checking to see if the decimal representation is palindromic.
This algorythm is not the best for finding the larger palindromes.

Palindromes have been around since ancient Greek times and exist in all languages, including Asian languages that use characters for their written word. Palindromes often turn out as gibberish, but then sometimes a Palindrome can be a very cool Spiritual message, as in the Palindrome: ''REVENGE BEG NEVER.'' Then sometimes they can be funny, as in the Palindrome: ''TO IDIOT.'' Over the past two and a half years I have created thousands of Palindromes. The following is that collection. If I have created a Palindrome that already exists, please forgive me. A great website to check is: http://www.eszlinger.com I have a couple of hundred Palindromes there that are not at this site. I am confident that you will be amazed and bewildered by the sometimes Philosophical and poetic nature of my Palindromes. You will be dazzled by the complexity I assure you. Before you start I have something to say: I want to tell you something. On at least three or four occasions throughout my life people have told me that if you read things backwards one will find messages from ''satan.'' I of course did not want to believe that and didn't pay much attention to it. Then four years ago I began making Palindromes. Making Palindromes requires searching for them by reading things backwards, so obviously what I'd heard previously in my life would cross my mind now and again..... until I found Palindromes like this: MUM, MOM, DAD

Palindromes
A palindrome is a word or sentence that reads the same forward as it does backward. The words a and I are perhaps the simplest and least interesting palindromes; the word racecar and the name Hannah are more interesting and illustrative. Neither spaces nor punctuation are usually taken into consideration when constructing sentences that are palindromes one of the most famous palindromes is A man, a plan, a canal, Panama but when the spaces are properly positioned as well, so much the better. An example would be the also famous palindrome Able was I ere I saw Elba , purportedly spoken by Napoleon, referring to his first sighting of the River Elba. Palindromes are a type of palingram called letter palingrams . A palingram is a sentence in which the letters, syllables, or words read the same backward as they do forward. The sentence, "He was, was he?" is a word palingram, because the words can be placed in reverse order and still read the same. The sentence, "I did, did I?" is not only a word palingram but a letter palingram (or palindrome) as well. A number of interesting palindromes are given below for your amusement. Can you make up your own?

The most general form of the reversing sequence is the palingram. Palingrams are sequences of letters, syllables or words that read the same backwards as forwards. To make the game more interesting, spaces and punctuation are ignored. Here are some examples with words or syllables as the units of the palingram.
He was, was he? (words) O boy boy-o (syllables) Some people prefer a broader definition of the palingram in which the units are syllables (or at least groups of letters, but some permutation within the group is allowed when doing the reversal. Examples include:
bedroom boredom elvis lives garden danger mother's thermos mowed a meadow seaside disease workmate did teamwork (or, without "did") The reader is invited to work out the necessary letter groupings in each case.)
Palindromes (with which more people are familiar) are palingrams where the reversing unit is a single character. That is, the individual letters must read the same forward and backward. To be self-descriptive, perhaps one of these things should have been called a

One Aviva ... The Todd Solondz problem will always be in our faces because that's where he puts it. He doesn't have the nyah nyah attack of such punk auteurs as Larry Clark or Harmony Korine—just the opposite: I can't think of a filmmaker who combines so much aggression with so little affect . But he's one of the few writer-directors who can earn an NC-17 rating for a movie without nudity or profanity; his films are just so conceptually grotesque that you wouldn't want to show them to anyone below the age of … I was going to write "40," but that would be too glib. I actually respect Solondz's purity of vision and thought Happiness worked beautifully as a sicko sitcom. I also respect his obstinacy: No matter how much his distributors plead for a slightly softer product, he'll always show us the world through shit-colored glasses. Does Solondz deserve a rating of his own? Say, NR-DS—"Not recommended for persons depressed or suicidal"? Solondz opens Palindromes (Wellspring) with an off-camera suicide—or perhaps it should be called an artistic filicide: the funeral of Dawn Weiner, the heroine of his breakthrough feature

Connect Palindromes
OBJECTIVE The object of the game is to form palindromes of length 4 or greater. A palindrome is a sequence of numbers that is the same if read forwards or backwards (e.g., 12321). HOW TO PLAY When it's a player's turn, indicated by the light, the player clicks and drags a piece from their queue to one of the grid columns. Releasing the mouse button while over a column drops the piece in that column. If the player forms a palindrome, the player scores and those pieces are removed from the board. Then it is the other player's turn. Play continues until the grid is full. Whoever has the highest score at the end of the game wins. SCORING Longer palindromes are worth more points. You can improve your score by forming more than one palindrome on your turn.
Length Value 40 points 90 points 160 points 250 points
You also gain a bonus if the color sequence forms a palindrome as well (e.g. blue-green-red-green-blue).
