Jouhaina Razzouk traveled to the prestigious Oxford Round Table in England last September as part of her career interest in women’s rights. Ms. Razzouk, who just graduated from the School of Professional Psychology, was among 35 worldwide invitees to a week-long program at Oxford in August 2004. An international student from Lebanon, Razzouk started her academic career in the Middle East. She was the first Wright State student to participate in the prestigious Oxford event. She was the only student among educational and business leaders who gathered to consider major issues of concern in our society. College of Nursing and Health Professors Bobbe Gray and Donna Curry led an effort to sign a Memo of Agreement between Wright State’s College of Nursing and Health and the University of Central Lancashire’s Faculty of Health. The University of Central Lancashire, Preston, England, has assisted Professors Gray and Curry greatly in the planning of two student Ambassador Programs to the United Kingdom. Wright State will also host four English Nursing students from UCL this Winter Quarter as part of the exchange of students and faculty through the agreement.

STEPS-Funded Collaborations:
The Institute facilitates development of interdisciplinary research on the STEPS research priorities by helping with the early stages of interdisciplinary collaborations. These efforts include funds for graduate and undergraduate students working with faculty among environmental disciplines and workshops that link UCSC faculty with other researchers and policy makers outside the university. The Institute is always searching for new and innovative approaches that link science, technology, engineering, policy, and society. UCSC faculty attempting to develop collaborations on the major STEPS research priorities should contact the STEPS Director to discuss funding possibilities.
