Sierra Nevada Recreation Corporation , Vallecito; Carolee White; Expiration 8/26/05. Sierra Nevada Recreation Corporation has been providing underground adventures in California since 1978. We operate four caverns (Boyden Cavern, Moaning Cavern, Black Chasm and California Cavern) and a gold mine (Sutter Gold Mine) providing education and fun on our family tours and thrills and challenges on our extended expeditions. SCHOOLS can utilize our comprehensive school program as an adjunct to a field trip, or as a unit in and of itself. We designed it to give students a memorable and lively education on the unique geology of caves and caverns, on the uses that caves have been put to over time by man, and on the cave life that can be found within. School lesson plans are located on this website and information on the program can be found by clicking HERE to go to our Education pages. What could be more appropriate when learning about California's Gold Rush than taking an underground tour into a real gold mine? At Sutter Gold Mine, your students will actually traverse deep inside the Mother Lode - the gold bearing quartz vein structure that runs beneath the historic Gold Country, and inspired the dreams of thousands. The school program at all of our locations includes optional above ground activities related to the study area. You can customize your field trip to suit your schedule, budget and interests. We value our school groups and do all we can to make your trip the best ever!

Asthma Programs
Educating people about asthma and asthma management is one of the top priorities for the American Lung Association of Oregon. The ALAO believes that a major component of this priority revolves around improving uncontrolled asthma throughout the state with educational programming for a variety of target populations ranging from pre-school to adults. In addition, we are interested in providing educational opportunities for those adults who come into contact with asthmatic children. There are several programs that ALAO uses to accomplish the goal of eliminating uncontrolled asthma.
Asthma in Oregon:
  • Approximately 300,000 Oregonians have asthma; 74,000 of them are children Asthma is a chronic lung disease where the airways suddenly become inflamed and can severely restrict someone's ability to breathe.

PAL Camp Photos A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Police Activities League of Greater Portland provides educational, recreational, and athletic programs to the youth of the Portland / Gresham metropolitan area with an emphasis on "disadvantaged" youth. PAL strives to connect law enforcement and youth in a positive way. PAL utilizes athletics as well as recreational and educational activities to instill positive life principles and character building tools in an effort to deter juvenile crime and violence. The Police Activities League focuses on youth who live in high risk areas, are low income or are classified as "at risk." More than 85% of the youth that PAL served last year are low-income. Many of our youth are diagnosed with ADHD, are in and out of the foster care system on a regular basis, or have one or more parent who is incarcerated and/or drug and alcohol affected. PAL's philosophy about youth is that all youth are at risk. Just because a child's world is together today doesn't mean that something won't happen tomorrow. Come PAL around with us.
