1. Religion In Oregon
Statistics for oregon churches and religions.
http://www.adherents.com/loc/loc_oregon.html
Adherents.com presents:
Religion in Oregon
Not surprisingly, Oregon's religious environment most closely resembles Washington's . Oregon and Washington are notable for being the U.S. states with the highest proportion of religiously-unaffiliated and self-identified "nonreligious" residents. Only 1.2% of Oregonians describe themselves as agnostics (and a statistically negligable number are atheists). But about 17% of Oregonians classify themselves as "nonreligious" (while the U.S. average is only 7%; Washington is 14%).
As is the case everywhere in the U.S., the largest religion in Oregon is Christianity . The largest religious bodies in the state are the Catholic Church (the largest church in the United States), the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (a predominant church in the western U.S.) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America ("ELCA", a predominant church in northern states).
Also, about 8.7% of Oregonians say they are Baptist , 5% say they are Methodist and 4% say they are Presbyterian . But many of these are unaffiliated, nominal or divided among different churches no Baptist, Methodist or Presbyterian religious bodies are larger than the Catholic, Latter-day Saint, or ELCA churches. The largest Baptist religious body in the state (and the country), the Southern Baptist Convention, claims 1% of the state's population as members (divided into conservative and moderate factions). In 1990 the Conservative Baptist Association of America reported more churches in Oregon than the SBC, but did not provide membership figures and is thought to have fewer members than the SBC. This organization currently has more affiliated churches in Oregon (180) than any other state except California.

CHAPTER VII
THE GROWTH OF THE CAUSE
State Secretary Oregon Christian Missionary Convention
In this chapter we shall attempt to show as completely as possible a roster of all the churches that are now, and have been, in the state. It would be too voluminous to give a detailed history of each congregation even if we had such a record, though some are richly deserving of it. We shall attempt to show as accurately as we can, from the information available, the date of organization and whether it still lives. Bold faced type indicates that the church so designated no longer lives. Occasionally a brief comment is thrown in.
"On the Yamhill," somewhere in the northern part of Polk county. The exact location is lost to history. Even the name by which it was known, if it had such, is lost. It lives in history only by the phrase, "On the Yamhill." It was organized by Amos Harvey. His donation land claim was in Polk county near the present village of McCoy. This was the FIRST congregation of Christians only in the state of Oregon, and was composed of 13 members. The date was the month of March. Mrs. W. G. Armsworthy, of Wasco, Oregon, is a descendant of Amos Harvey.

Church name: Home Meetings From the church pastor: "Jesus Christ centered home meeting like atmosphere-meets in work building. Bible, prayer, praise and worship. We're just starting to meet, and welcome you to join us in growing. Our hearts desire is to lift up the Lord Jesus, knowing he will draw all men to Himself as we lift him up in our lives through worship and praise and the reading of his word, and prayer and ministering the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as a Body. We are looking to be laborers in His field, servants in His House, going out to the harvest, and welcome you to join us there. Gordon and Kathy Angell"
