Dos años después de haber sido atacado el World Trade Center en Nueva York, EE.UU. es conmovido nuevamente por un atentado terrorista; otro ataque aunque esta vez de una magnitud insospechada destruye una dependencia federal en la ciudad de Oklahoma. El Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building es casi totalmente demolido el 19 de abril de a las 9:02 am mediante una explosión provocada por un camión cargado con explosivos que instantes antes ha sido estacionado en su frente.
