OUTREACH Programs Workforce Oklahoma Training Institute The Workforce Oklahoma Training Institute provides assistance to the Oklahoma Workforce Development system in improving quality by creating career development programs and increasing the knowledge and skills of those professionals engaged in the development of Oklahoma's labor force. The primary focus of the institute is the provision of the capacity building branch for the new Oklahoma One-Stop Career Centers. These centers are the organizing vehicles for transforming the current fragmented array of employment and training programs into a coherent, comprehensive and integrated service delivery system that will meet the current and future employment, education, and training needs of Oklahoma's job seekers and employers. The Oklahoma centers, rich with occupational and labor market information, offer customers choices about where to get services. Another focus of the institute is to provide staff training for the Workforce Oklahoma Career Center System. The institute also extends technical assistance for the development of employment and training program policies and procedures. The JTPA, Employment Security Commission, and many other staff members benefit from this program. The institute provides two certificate programs: the Employment and Training Professional certificate and the Career Development Facilitator certificate. Both programs prepare staff to work in career counseling environments.

Welcome to OBU! I am completely new to OBU and am so excited to be a part of such a great university and to be your RD this year. I believe that your dorm should feel like home, so your RA’s and I are going to do absolutely everything we can to make this happen, from keeping the building functioning properly, to making this a great place of study, to helping us be good neighbors to each other. Getting to know you and sharing my life with you will be among my main priorities, so don’t be a stranger! Stop by my office or my apartment to say ‘Hello’, and we can have tea or coke or water or whatever! I am married to Justin, who is an OBU New Testament professor. We have two children, Ethan (2 1/2 yrs.), and Drew (10 months). Ethan is pumped about our new, BIG ‘house’ and our HUGE ‘back yard’!

Year after year, graduating seniors in Interdisciplinary Studies say the high level of accessibility of their professors is what they value most about their UW-Green Bay experience. Our students enjoy the same quality of teaching and one-on-one access as their on-campus counterparts because the same UW-Green Bay faculty who teach on campus also teach the Extended degree courses. Currently, about 35 UW-Green Bay professors from an array of disciplines teach in the Extended Degree Program. Breznay, Peter T.

jean.ann.seago@nursing.ucsf.edu RESEARCH My program of research focuses on understanding and testing how nursing systems and other organizational systems in acute care hospitals impact patient outcomes and patient safety and nurse workforce outcomes. Because of my operations work as an acute care hospital administrator and nurse executive, I am interested in factors that predict positive nurse workforce outcomes such as turnover, absenteeism, job satisfaction, and increased ethnic diversity. Additionally I am also interested in organizational variables and the large databases that contain many of these variables. My program of research has begun to move in the direction of health services research with a focus on nursing systems and the nurse workforce. I investigate organizational variables as predictors (length of stay, hours per patient day, skill mix, RN union), and positive patient events (patient satisfaction) and adverse patient events (medication errors, patient falls, decubitus ulcers, mortality) as outcomes. Our research team now works to incorporate secondary analyses of data from large databases to study patient and organizational outcomes (mortality, cost, staffing. shortage) as predicted by organizational (hospital ownership change, volume, case-mix) and environmental (county population of non white, urban/rural) factors.
