    PETITION FOR RESIDENCY All except bona fide residents of Oklahoma must pay a nonresident fee in addition to other fees and must meet nonresident admission criteria. Members of the armed services stationed in Oklahoma and their dependents are ordinarily eligible for nonresident fee waivers but must pay the nonresident application fee and are subject to nonresident admission criteria. Any applicant presenting a transcript of credit from an educational institution outside of Oklahoma will be assumed to be a non-resident. It is the responsibility of each applicant to submit any question about resident status to the Office of Admissions for a decision. A uniform policy concerning resident status exists for all state supported institutions of higher education in Oklahoma. Students may obtain residency petitions from the Office of Admissions and Records. Once the petition has been completed, it must be submitted to the Admissions Office for evaluation. Once a decision has been made, the student will be notified of their residency status as well as the Office of Financial Aids, the Bursar's Office and the student's college will be notified the residency status as well. SMOKING POLICY The following policies concerning tobacco are from a joint recommendation of the Deans Council, the Faculty Senate, the Employee Liaison Council and the Student Association: (1) No tobacco products shall be advertised or sold, (2) Health Sciences Center publications will not accept advertising related to tobacco products, (3) Smoking is not permitted in any building on the Health Sciences Center Campus.

    Resident Tuition Regulations
    The University of Oklahoma is a state supported institution of higher education supported by legislative funds derived from State of Oklahoma tax revenue. As a state, tax-supported institution, the University gives preference in tuition to residents of the State of Oklahoma. The University's definition of the term "resident" may be different from the definitions developed by other, non-university agencies The University does not recognize declarations of resident status made by other agencies . Thus a person who is an Oklahoma resident for tax or voting purposes is not necessarily a resident for University of Oklahoma tuition purposes.
    Basic Definition of Resident Status
    Resident status is granted to financially independent adults who are permanently residing in Oklahoma and who have been physically and continuously present in the State of Oklahoma for at least one calendar year prior to the first day of class attendance at any Oklahoma institution of higher education; and who, during this one-year period, resided in Oklahoma for some reason other than primarily to attend classes at a post-secondary educational institution.

    RULE 1.MANDATORY CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION COMMISSION (MCLEC). (a) There is hereby established a Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Commission (MCLEC) consisting of eleven (11) members who are resident members of the Bar of this State. The Executive Director of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Director of Continuing Legal Education of the Oklahoma Bar Association shall be ex-officio members without vote. The remaining nine (9) members shall be appointed by the President of the Oklahoma Bar Association with the consent of the Board of Governors of the Oklahoma Bar Association. (b) The MCLEC shall have the following duties: (1) To exercise general supervisory authority over the administration of these rules.

    (PDF, 37k) Borrower's Application and Agreement (PDF, 14k) GENERAL POLICIES The Oklahoma Council of Academic Library Directors (OCALD), adopting a common goal to promote and facilitate access to information, communication and scholarly research among college and university communities, will extend reciprocal borrowing privileges to each other's faculty, students, and staff. These specified individuals may have direct, personal access to materials that are not available at their home institution's library. The covenants listed in the "OK-Share Library Agreement" are intended to accomplish this goal by establishing an OK-Share card system. Several points should be emphasized before the covenants of this agreement are set forth: The covenants are intended to be minimums. Any OK-Share library may expand the privileges it wishes to offer, but it should not do so in the expectation that other institutions will do likewise. This agreement is not intended to supplant other agreements between or among institutions, nor is it intended to be the only agreement of this kind which is permitted between or among institutions of like interest or common concern;

Americans with Disabilities Act/Olmstead Decision http://www.hcfa.gov/medicaid/olmstead/olmshome.htm In July 1999, the Supreme Court issued the Olmstead v. L. C. decision. The Court's decision in that case clearly challenges Federal, state, and local governments to develop more opportunities for individuals with disabilities through more accessible systems of cost-effective community-based services. The Olmstead decision interpreted Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its implementing regulation, requiring States to administer their services, programs, and activities "in the most integrated setting appropriate to the needs of qualified individuals with disabilities." Medicaid can be an important resource to assist States in meeting these goals. However, the scope of the ADA and the Olmstead decision are not limited to Medicaid beneficiaries or to services financed by the Medicaid program. The ADA and the Olmstead decision apply to all qualified individuals with disabilities regardless of age. The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) has begun consultation with States and with people with disabilities. HCFA plans to review relevant Federal Medicaid regulations, policies and previous guidance to assure that they are compatible with the requirements of the ADA and Olmstead decision, and facilitate States' efforts to comply with the law. HCFA is working closely with other involved Federal agencies to ensure that these reviews are consistent with the requirements of the statute and are focused on the needs of persons with disabilities.

    A. Basic Requirements
    1. The following Rules and Regulations for State Aid Grants to public libraries shall take effect July 1, 1999 2. Libraries must meet the definition of a public library as given in the latest edition of the Oklahoma public library standards.
    (OLA/ODL Levels of Library Development, 4th ed., 1998, p. 2) 3. Libraries must be legally established and operating according to Oklahoma Statutes. Title 65, Article 4, Section 101 Title 11, Article 31, Sect. 101 and Article 10, Sect. 10A of the Oklahoma Constitution Definitions: The following words or terms, when used in this section, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. Bibliographic Access means the provision of author, title and subject indexes to the library materials and classification using either the Dewey or the Library of Congress classification systems.
