Why College is Important
Help Your Child Plan For College
Parents play an important role in their child's academic success. Years of research clearly show that family and community involvement in children's learning is key for getting children on the right path in life. Help your child develop a plan that will offer them a chance at better job opportunities and higher salaries.
However, you must begin preparing for you child's college education as early as possible. Important decisions must be made, such as which high school courses will better prepare your child for college, what financial aid options are available and which college or university your child should attend.
Begin planning and preparing for your child's college education today. Need information on preparing for college? The annual mailing of preparing for college infomation to 8th-12th grade schools is complete. Ask your child's counselor for a copy of the preparing for college brochure for your grade level. Also, ask about the 2004-2005 Guide to Oklahoma Colleges and Universities, the Oklahoma College Savings Plan flyer and the "Are You Looking for Money?" brochure. Online versions of these publications are available on the Publications page.
