    Dog Bite Law
      Beware of the "statute of limitations"
      In every state, there is a law referred to as the "statute of limitations." It can extinguish the rights of a dog bite victim unless certain rules are followed:
      How much time does a victim have?
      The amount of time that a victim has depends on where the attack took place and whether the victim was a child when he or she was injured. Every state has the right to determine its period of limitations for claims. Some states give the adult victim one year, while others give adult victims four years or even more. Victims who are children are frequently allowed to file their claims after they turn 18. The rules can be confusing. For this reason, dog bite victims are absolutely advised in all circumstances to retain a lawyer as soon as possible.
      General guidelines
      There are general guidelines that always work in every state:
      • File the claim in court within one year from the date of the attack , unless the responsible party was a government entity or employee in the course and scope of his or her governmental work.

    Employee Rights In Ohio STATE OR COUNTY EMPLOYMENT OHIO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES Unlike employees in the private sector, Ohio's public employees working within the Ohio Civil Service have extensive and specific rights. These rights are listed in the Ohio Revised Code and the Ohio Administrative Code. Ohio public employees can be grouped into three different categories: (1) public employees in the classified civil service and not covered by a union agreement; (2) public employees in the classified civil service covered by a union agreement; and (3) public employees in the unclassified civil service. Each group listed above is treated differently under Ohio law regarding hiring, firing, and changes in the terms and conditions of employment. Unclassified Employees Public employees in the unclassified civil service have the fewest of protections and are most like their counterparts in the private sector. Unfortunately, unclassified employees can usually be terminated without cause and serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority (i.e. department director, govenor, mayor, etc.). Ohio Revised Code Section 124.11, lists those public employees that are in the unclassified civil service. The law names specific positions that are unclassified, such as: Officers elected by popular vote;

The first originates in the law of quarantine itself. The second concerns civil commitment adjudication. Quarantine laws are limited to controlling infectious diseases. Civil commitment laws govern incarceration when people are a danger to themselves or others, are mentally ill and unable to care for themselves, or present a danger to others because they spread infectious disease. Before antibiotics, quarantine was important in preventing the spread of infection. Since it was not possible to attack bacterial causes of disease directly, sources of disease had to be kept away from other people. According to a recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, many state statutes which address the control of contagious diseases have been on the books since the turn of the century. The leading case on quarantine, Jacobson v. Massachusetts was decided in 1905. Even more recent statutes were enacted forty years ago. Only ten states have substantially changed their TB-related law within the last few years.
