Scrap Tire Management Program
A scrap tire as defined in Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 3745-27-01 , is a solid waste and includes all unwanted or discarded tires including: used tires until they have been installed on a vehicle, scrap tire pieces that are still recognizable and contain wire or fiber. Scrap tire transportation, collection, storage, processing, disposal, and beneficial use is regulated in Ohio per Ohio Revised Code (ORC) sections 3734.70, 3734.71, 3734.72, 3734.73, 3734.74, and 3734.84. Registration or permitting and licensing are required before accepting any scrap tires. Reload for next image Anyone transporting scrap tires into or out of Ohio must first register with Ohio EPA Scrap Tire Management Unit unless they qualify for one of the exemptions in OAC 3745-27-54. An annual registration fee and financial assurance with the State of Ohio is required. Registration as a scrap tire transporter in another state is not sufficient. Anyone collecting, storing, processing, or disposing of scrap tires in Ohio must first obtain a registration or permit from Ohio EPA, unless they qualify for an exemption listed in OAC 3745-27-61 or OAC 3745-27-63. They must also obtain a solid waste facility license from the Approved Local Health Department (OAC 3745-37-15). If the local health department is not approved, the license can be obtained from the appropriate Ohio

NPS Implementaton Funding Targets
Targets established in this section of the Ohio NPS Management Plan 2005-2010 are designed to improve the financial sustainability of NPS implementation and generally enhance our ability to assess and identify NPS needs and available funding. Goals:
  • Integrate NPS project implementation into traditional environmental infra-structure funding methods, such as the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) , municipal bonds and/or Ohio Water Development Authority (OWDA) loans.
  • Identify and more accurately document Ohio NPS implementation needs.
  • Accurately identify available NPS implementation funding and effectively target available funding on Ohio NPS needs.
  • Encourage use of existing state and local authority to address local NPS problems and needs.
2005 - 2010 Targets
Target 1: By 2010, at least five (5) governmental units will apply for and receive traditional water resource loan funding to support NPS implementation projects, and user-fees or similar traditional revenue mechanisms are used to repay those loans. Baseline: Local use of traditional water resource loan funding is common practice for wastewater (PDF 11kb) and drinking water (PDF 12kb) treatment in Ohio.

Option 1: MBA/MSA Dual-Degree Program The two-year MBA/MSA program prepares students for leadership positions by combining the business teaching of the Ohio University MBA program with sport-specific knowledge during the MSA program. The MBA program is fully accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business. In total, the MBA/MSA program is a 24 month, 115 quarter hour program. Ohio University MBA Program Twelve of the 72 hours during the first year will satisfy the requirements of both the MBA and MSA programs. These twelve credits involve one, four-credit course each quarter that deal specifically with sports administration. Internship: During the fourth (summer) quarter, the dual-degree students complete sports industry internships, which satisfy 9 credit requirements of both the MBA and MSA program. Internship opportunities have been provided by more than 400 different organizations throughout the world, including professional teams, corporate services, sports facilities, arenas, and collegiate programs. June Holley - President and Founder Check out June's CEO site June is responsible for research, regional and national outreach, and development of new programs. June shares this responsibility with the Business Innovation and Food Ventures Directors. Another area of focus for June is organizational development. June is kept informed of all program activities and leads strategy development, long-term planning, and reflection and other learning processes. She serves as the chief liaison between ACEnet and national, regional and local members of the economic development community. She shares responsibility for national market network development and for program reporting and grant writing.

- Chief Operating Officer Don joined ACEnet in the summer of 2002 as ACEnet’s new Chief Operating Officer. Don’s primary responsibilities include oversight of all program activities, ensuring that ACEnet’s strategic priorities and goals are incorporated into the staff’s work; oversight of all administrative and financial procedures; working jointly with the finance director on the ACEnet budgeting process; organizational development; and the development of a communications plan for the organization. Don is an Ohio native, and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Ohio State. Before joining Zayed University, Dr. Aly served as a tenured professor at Ohio State University. He is still on leave from OSU and active with Ohio State's Middle East Studies Center and remains a Faculty Associate to the John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public Policy. Dr. Aly is returning to OSU this summer. Dr. Aly is a research fellow of the Economic Research Forum for the Arab countries, Iran, and Turkey, and he is co-editor to the Middle East Business and Economic Review and on the editorial board of the Journal of Development and Economic Policies. Last year, Dr Aly was elected to the executive board of the Middle East Economic Association and currently serving as a treasurer for this international organization. In addition to teaching at Ohio State University, he has taught, researched, and consulted in many countries in the Middle East, including Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, and Tunisia. Most recently, Dr. Aly served as a Senior Fulbright Scholar at the United Arab Emirates University. Professional Development Training Program Overview
The Professional Development Training Program was designed for and by labor/management cooperation professionals of the Ohio Labor Management Cooperation Program (OLMCP). The OLMCP is a network of Area Labor Management Committees and Centers funded by the Ohio Department of Development to foster economic development through better work place relations. In 1997 and 1998, nine seminars were presented in a sequence designed to provide a basic platform of skills for the labor-management cooperation professional. All seminars were reviewed by members of the Ohio/Midwest Labor Management Committee, and advisory board of Ohio's labor and management leaders. While this series is not offered on a regular basis, some or all of the seminars could be run upon request.The nine seminars are divided into three "tracks" or focus areas:
Track One: Basic Technical Skills
These seminars provide a platform of basic skills for work within a client organization. They also provide Area Labor Management Committees with the tools they need to hire trainers with the right mix of skills for local clients.

The School of Recreation and Sport Sciences, http://www.ohiou.edu/rsps/ , offers master's degrees in three programs: Recreation and Sport Sciences, Physiology of Exercise, and Sports Administration. The Master of Science in Recreation and Sport Sciences offers concentrations in athletic training education, coaching education, physical education pedagogy, recreation studies, and sport physiology and adult fitness. The school also offers programs leading to the Master of Science in Physiology of Exercise (M.S.) and the Master of Sports Administration (M.S.A.). The school, in cooperation with the College of Business, also offers a dual Master of Business Administration and Master of Sports Administration (M.B.A./M.S.A.) program. The school offers a unique "summers only" master's program, which allows public school teachers and others with a flexible summer schedule to complete the requirements for a master's degree in physical education pedagogy or athletic administration in three consecutive summer sessions. Coursework is presented on a three-year cycle that requires consecutive attendance. The maximum time allowed between the date that you first initiate graduate study toward a master's degree option and the date that you complete the requirements for the degree is six calendar years. Full-time students can typically complete the coaching education, physical education pedagogy, and recreation studies concentrations in one academic year; the athletic training education, sports administration and facility management, and sport physiology and adult fitness concentrations in 12 months (including internship). The physiology of exercise and sports administration/business administration (dual degree) programs can be completed in two academic years.

Purpose
To facilitate the smooth operation of reciprocal exchanges at Ohio University, the following procedures have been established governing the initiation and administration of both undergraduate and graduate student exchanges.
Policy
I. Definitions
There are two types of exchanges:
  • An exchange may be defined as a reciprocal agreement between Ohio University and a foreign institution in which Ohio University students studying abroad pay tuition, and sometimes room and board, to Ohio University, while attending a foreign institution where these services are rendered at no charge. A student from the partner foreign institution attends Ohio University, and draws upon the fees paid by the outgoing Ohio University student to pay tuition and accompanying fees, and room and board, if applicable. Comparable numbers of students are exchanged under such agreements.
  • An exchange may also be defined as a reciprocal agreement between Ohio University and a foreign institution in which Ohio University students studying at a partner foreign institution pay resident in-country tuition and fees, and a comparable number of foreign nationals from the partner institution attending Ohio University pay in-state tuition and fees.

    The University of Arizona Finance Department has established an Applied Investment Management program, providing students with an opportunity to apply previous course experiences and knowledge to a student-managed portfolio funded with contributions by alumni and friends of the University. In 2003/4, the students successfully outperformed the benchmark set for the portfolio, as reported in the Eller Times Summer 2004. Read more about the program here
    R.I.S.E. 2005 Symposium
    Undergraduate students Paul Leisey and Mark Stinner had an opportunity to attend the R.I.S.E. 2005 symposium in Dayton, Ohio earlier this year. Redefining Investment Strategy Education (R.I.S.E.) provides an opportunity for leading students, faculty and investment professionals to interact and discuss strategic issues facing tomorrow's leaders in the financial services industry. Paul Leisey was selected to be a panel participant and ask the guest speakers questions during the Stock Market discussion. Breakout sessions and workshops featuring such topics as Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Fixed Income Portfolio Management, and Equity Analysis allowed students to interact with financial professionals on a more personal level. The two students also networked with representatives from many other colleges and programs, obtaining valuable insight into new practices and techniques for investment education and student managed portfolios.
