Alpha Nutrition Programs The majority of health problems are food-related; so these problems get a lot of our attention. There are two aspects to nutrition:
  • the normal play of nutrients in the body the real story of complex food-body interactions with disease-causing problems.
  • The information and insights offered at this web site are intended to clarify some of the complex issues of food and nutrition and bring you to a practical strategy of solving health problems through nutritional therapy. Food is the most intimate part of the environment because we ingest it. When something goes wrong, it makes good sense to look at the flow of substances through the mouth for the source of the problem. We look not only at the composition of the food but also, and more importantly, at the interaction of the ingested molecules with body. Adverse reactions to food are common and produce many disturbances by a variety of mechanisms. Diagnosing adverse reactions to food is an important task of clinical medicine, despite the fact that it is not currently taught in medical schools.

    What others have to say
"I have been working with Kathy for a couple of months and the results have been fantastic. Having experienced years of low self esteem and self confidence, Kathy provides me with a nurturing and supportive environment but still pushes me outside my comfort zone, enabling me to achieve things I didn't think were possible. I still have further to go to reach my goals but the progress I have made in such a short time has made all the hard work worthwhile." JW. Consultant, Vic "I had been burdened by extra kilos and a lack of self esteem particularly since my divorce. I had made attempts to change this situation with the usual methods, such as trying to change my diet and doing some more exercise. After just a few sessions with Katherine I got really committed to a 'real' health building program, which I stuck to! Katherine's coaching kept me on track and with all the information that I needed to understand what was the best program for my personal needs, I soon was on top of my game. I am happy to say that almost 2 years down the track I have incorporated healthy living into my life and my life has taken on a new quality, which also includes the love of my life to share it with! DM NSW "Katherine’s knowledge and experience in all aspects Natural Health are second to none.

Updated 8-23-99 Amy's Ferret Resource Page Table of Contents Ferret Fundamentals Ferret Supplies Online Ferret Nutrition and Foods Ferret Community ... Ferret Extras Well, I've had this ferret page up since January, 1998. It was a project for the Christmas holidays. I had just acquired my first ferret, Chloe, in September of 1997. (Chloe is the ferret featured in the background of this page.) Chloe was a stray the my uncle found in his front yard. Honest! I put this page together because I did a lot of research to learn about how to best care for my new pet and I wanted to put the best sites I found all together in one spot. I get a lot of email thanking me for my work on this site and offering wonderful suggestions. If you have a favorite site that I missed, PLEASE send an email to me.
If you've been a regular visitor to my site you may have noticed that I stopped all updates during the summer. I'm ready now to talk about why. Chloe died this summer. I took her to the vet as soon as I noticed that she was ill. They said that she was dehydrated, and admitted her to the "hospital" and began giving her fluids, but she died a couple of days later. It was really hard for me to deal with her death. She's the first pet I've lost in a long time. Anyway, the point is that I'll need your help to keep this page up to date. I haven't been reading the Ferret Mailing List, or checking the newsgroup. It's been too much of a reminder of Chloe. So I haven't been hearing about the great new websites that I'm sure are going up. If you know of one, please let me know. If you made it this far in my explanation, I want to thank you for listening. And, I hope, understanding. Amy

    • What is a Vegan? Why Veganism? Vegan Nutrition
      What is a Vegan?
Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or poultry. Vegans, in addition to being vegetarian, do not use other animal products and by-products such as eggs, dairy products, honey, leather, fur, silk, wool, cosmetics, and soaps derived from animal products.
      Why Veganism?
People choose to be vegan for health, environmental, and/or ethical reasons. For example, some vegans feel that one promotes the meat industry by consuming eggs and dairy products. That is, once dairy cows or egg-laying chickens are too old to be productive, they are often sold as meat; and since male calves do not produce milk, they usually are raised for veal or other products. Some people avoid these items because of conditions associated with their production. Many vegans choose this lifestyle to promote a more humane and caring world. They know they are not perfect, but believe they have a responsibility to try to do their best, while not being judgmental of others.
