    This section of the site will introduce you to the Nova Scotia Youth Secretariat,their goals, objectives, and mandate. nova scotia government Website
    http://youth.ednet.ns.ca/secretariat/secretariat.htm
    Our History
    In 1989, the Nova Scotia Youth Secretariat was created with the passage of the Youth Secretariat Act. This Act established an agency responsible for developing effective responses by Government to the needs of the Province’s youth. The Act acknowledges that several provincial government departments serve the diverse needs of young Nova Scotians aged 15-24. However, the Youth Secretariat is the only agency in the provincial government with a mandate devoted exclusively to the youth population of Nova Scotia.
    Our Mission
    To facilitate and coordinate the provincial government’s response to the needs, concerns, and aspirations of Nova Scotian youth and youth-serving organizations.
    Our Organizational Goals
    The goals providing focus to the activities of the Youth Secretariat are:
    • To achieve excellence in youth programming throughout government;
    • To enable young Nova Scotians to make a successful transition into adulthood;
    • To encourage, facilitate and support youth involvement in decision making; and
    • To increase awareness of youth issues and concerns.
