    Fargo is a United States city located in the state of North Dakota. It is the county seat of Cass County. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 90,599 which makes it the largest city in North Dakota. It has a twin city, Moorhead, Minnesota. The larger Fargo-Moorhead area also encompasses the communities of West Fargo, North Dakota and Dilworth, Minnesota.

    General Information
    The city of Fargo is the crossroads and economic center of a large portion of eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota. Fargo has the most active healthcare industry in the state and the city is a regional industrial and retail center. MeritCare Health System is a major employer in the area. Fargo is home to North Dakota State University (NDSU). In recent years, Fargo has seen dramatic growth both in population and economic activity. Several businesses now have major operations in the community including Microsoft. From the late 1990s onward, Fargo has consistently had one of the lowest unemployment rates of any Metropolitan Statistical Area in the United States. This, coupled with Fargo's low crime rate and the plentiful supply of affordable housing in the community, has prompted

There are several activities from different academic subjects for you to choose from. One of the most important things is to have fun! Below are some activities to help you study NORTH DAKOTA. You may choose to do all, some, or none of the activities. You can also alter the activities to better suit your individual child's needs. Some of these activities overlap each other, choose the one you think that you and the children will enjoy most. The main point of this unit is to make learning about NORTH DAKOTA and enjoyable for all who are participating. North Dakota's State Flag North Dakota's dark blue field displays a bald eagle holding an olive branch and a bundle of arrows in its claws. In its beak, the eagle carries a ribbon with the words " One nation made up of many states". The shield on its breast has thirteen stars, representing the original thirteen states. The fan shaped design above the eagle represents the birth of a new nation, the United States. The name "North Dakota" appears on a red scroll below the eagle. Create a State "Infodesk": Before you begin this unit you may want to set up a research area. Place a desk or table in front of a bulletin board area. This will be where you can place relevant books, magazines, photographs, posters, newspaper articles, maps, scrapbooks, games, puzzles, computer software, task cards, travel brochures, etc. that you collect.

    Ice caps in North America and Europe are well documented. The ice removed water from the sea, lowering sea level by up to 100 meters. Large areas of the continental shelves were exposed.     The third largest and most populous state has great natural diversity ranging from deserts in the southeast to rainforest in the northwest. In between are the towering Sierra Nevada mountains which rise to over 4500 m. Not only is its annual farm output greater than that of any other state, so is its volume of construction and manufacturing.
